I called two weeks ago to inquire about a mulfunction message i was getting on my X5. The service advisor (not Luke, some other advisor) told me that i'd have to bring it for diagnostic tests and that i should make an appoitment. He transfered me over. Bought a used 2004 X3 from this dealership and its been nothing but one problem after another. As a first time BMW owner, I expected a higher standard in workmanship, but soon realized that most of the parts of a BMW seem to fail after 50k. This dealer's service is probably the worst service among any business in USA. They do not disclose you all the charges upfront. They did a diagnostic test on my vehicle for "check engine" light for $125 but did not tell me $12.50 shop & supplies charge upfront. So I had an unpleasant surprise when paying the bill. The diagnostic test report said estimated repairs of ~ $7500, things that were not even related to the "check engine" light. From the moment I first talked to the salesman, Bob Sherlock, 2 years ago, Princeton BMW seemed different than any other dealer I had visited. There was no pressure. My wife wanted a 3 series convertible and there was only 1 on the lot. Bob did not push existing inventory but instead listened to what we wanted and helped us place an order with the factory. I have bought 2 bmw's from this dealer both cars were great the experience with the dealer for the first one was very good. THe second car which I bought in 2005 the experience was horrible so much so that I just bought another car and refused to buy a bmw. I will never go back to Princeton BMW again the service and attitude is the worst I have every seen, they are a disgrace to the BMW brand
Okay, here's what happened when I called the service manager about the ordeal from Princeton BMW. He basically said he has many satisfied customers and he does not see a problem with the dealership. When I told him about the getting the run around with the refund, he said, he'll talk to Paul the parts guy. When an alcoholic goes to AA, hardest thing for the alcoholic is to admit that he/she is dependent on alcohol. Visited Princeton BMW before finding this site. Very mixed experience. Sales person was actually very good on initial visit. However, follow up was disappointing from two perspectives. First he couldn't keep track of who I was. Couldn't remember what model I was interested in etc. Second was refusal to give quote over phone, fax or e-mail. When I told him that was too bad and I would buy from someone else they offered (several days later) to make an exception. I bought a new 3 series from Princeton & was very happy with the sales experience. However, I live over in PA and needed a loaner for service. Princeton BMW gave me a loaner and when I returned the car there was damage to a passenger side wheel, which they wanted me to pay for. I was 100% sure I did not damage that wheel because I drove to my office, parked the car alone out of the way & then drove back to the dealer- no potholes or rough roads.
