I walked into Fields BMW this weekend planning to test drive a 428i or 435i convertible. The man who greeted me told me I didn't need to test drive the 435 because it has a 6-cylinder engine, and (honest to god, this is what he said out loud), "the 4 is probably good enough for a woman." I've never been confronted with such blatant sexism before. It was a horrible experience. That guy should be fired. Do not spend your money at Fields!

I made the mistake of purchasing a BMW X3 from Fields Northfield several years ago. The car has underperformed for a BMW - NOT quality engineering. It has been in the shop more times than I can count. Everything has gone wrong. And the service has been the most disappointing I have ever had with any car dealer. They routinely overcharge anytime they touch the vehicle. Be prepared to spend thousands and thousands on repairs. Reps are arrogant and sarcastic. No follow through. Wait time rediculous. I was beginning to believe they were xxxxxxxxx. Bought a new BMW some where else, will not be using Fields BMW service again.

I have been a customer of Fields BMW for 21 years. Why go elsewhere? I have seen very little movement in the personnel so to me that means a lot. There is always time for conversation when I bring it in for service, but even when I don't need service and I am in the area I always feel compelled to drop by.

It all began at Fields Jeep in Glenview. My wife and me were not sure which car to chose the Mercedes s 550 they had for sale or to go elsewhere and try BMW X6. Went to this dealership to buy a car, and knew an updated model of the 5 series was coming out. I wanted to see how Alex would respond to me saying I am thinking about waiting for the 2014 model with the updated change. He basically in a nutshell told me not to believe everything I read on the internet and media. Alex told me the 2014 will have no change. I purchased a car that they were going to hold....sold it out from under me, offered a 2011 for $$, took delivery to MI and then car arrived with no owners manual or floor mats. Called to see if they would make it right, nope not gonna happen! apparently 2011 BMW's do not come with floor mats or manuals unless stated in the purchase agreement! REALLY!!!!! Never been treated so poorly by a dealership ever.

Bought BMW X5 based on pictures, dealer description and carfax. Flew to Chicago to drive vehicle home to Minneapolis but condition of the X5 did not meet description or expectations ==> Previous body damage and paintwork not reflected in Carfax. Received full refund and bought 1 way air tickets home.

Horrible service and they tried ripping me off! My first experience with the dealer was over phone. I called them on a Friday around 5pm, asking if a certified pre-owned BMW 328xi was still for sale and if I could take it for a test drive. The sales person told me it was still available, and that I could take it for a test dive but I "...shouldn't plan on buying it tonight". WOW!!!
