The staff of Bond45 were very nice and our telephone request for a romantic table was ready. We ordered both a Filet Minon and a NY Strip, Medium Well. Both steaks were over cooked, as the center was totally dried out. We sent both steaks back to the kitchen for new steaks. Unfortunelty the second round of steaks were undercooked (rare). We dined Christmas Day, which may explain the numerous issues we had with the thought that the restaurant may not have had the best staff on that day. Our waiters were unprofessional and unknowledgeable, and we could barely understand their strong accents-one Mexican and one Asian-interesting choice for an Italian restaurant. Our expectations were much higher for this pricey restaurant, especially considering the information and reviews on the restaurant's website. We notified them ahead of time of the birthday/anniversary we were celebrating but there was no champagne to greet us (as advertised) until we reminded the server several times. Half of our party liked our food, the other half not so much. Needless to say, we were very disappointed and will not return to this restaurant.
We were staying at the Gaylord. It was a short 4 minute walk. Enjoyed the food however disappointed they did not have anything for kids. We ended up ordering appetizers for our daughter. Somewhat pricey as you order a la carte. Complimentary puff pastries - yikes, not a favorite, basically overcooked crust. Our group of eight was looking forward to a nice celebration of a friend's birthday but we all were disappointed with the evening. The service was not good--no rapport between the waiter and our group. We decided no to even mention that our friend had a birthday because he was all business. The food was uneven for such expense. We knew it was expensive going in, but we wanted to celebrate with a great meal. There is a nice view of the Potomac river and national harbor but that's all I can recommend it for
For the money you spend I don't think you receive the kind if service you should receive. I had to wait for extended periods of time before my waiter came to my table during my meal. I had the New York strip steak medium ware and it was extremely tough also they had a poor selection of side items. I would try the restaurant again to make sure they just didn’t have a off night.
Steaks were tasteless and too salty. Aspargas sauce was pastie and tasteless.
We visited the restaurant during Restaurant Week. Needless to say, I will not be visiting agin. My friend and I both ordered the filet mignon and I had to send mine back once and she sent hers back three time because it was not cooked the way we asked (I wanted medium well and she wanted well done). I was a little disapointed since it was a special night . First there was no one at the hostess stand and everyone looked kind of lost. I also requested for someone to wish my date a haooy birthday so she would fell special from the start but that did not occur. Once I found someone to sit us I ask to be sitted some where private and nice and was escorted to a section where the cooks where o re paring several dishes so that was not at all romantic nor private so I had to ask to be sitted elsewhere.
