When my 16 year old cat fell ill this past summer I was in need of a new local vet since moving to the Brentwood area. After a night at the emergency ER in Antioch I was referred to BVH. I was booked an appointment with Dr. Odom and couldn't be happier with the level of care and compassion I received while I was going through my whole ordeal. Dr. Odom really takes his time to explain everything to you and answer your questions. Even sitting down in the waiting room with me and going over ultrasounds to make sure I knew ... read more

I can only Rave about this vet office but mostly about Dr. Sharp. She rocks!!! Both of my dogs absolutely love her and she genuinely cares about their health too. I even took my little 4 year old niece with me to their appt. and Dr. Sharp was gracious enough to let my niece "change the color of her hair" with her princess wand. What a good sport a doctor that treats animals well and also had fun pretending with my niece. We moved to Oakley recently and just saw a brand new vet office opened right near my house, but I refus... read more

I had a brief encounter with this office but it was awesome. My grandparents found some newborn field mice burrowed up together in their backyard. They want to put in a pond, and not too fond of mice anyway. They wanted to get them out of there so... I came on Yelp to find BVH. I called to tell them my predicament, and they (the vet) approved a courtesy humane euthanasia. I just returned from their office - They have a small clinic, it's very tidy and orderly. The front office staff was super friendly and great to talk to. ... read more

Thank goodness I found this office. More importantly I have to give 2 thumbs up for Dr. Tracewell. She's a new veterinarian and apparently new to this office. I've been having trouble with my pooch. Constant health issues kept popping up for several years. I finally fired his last Vet and came here. This doctor is so thorough...she spent so much time with him...checking everything. I can't say that I have observed this kind of attention for my dog or any other dog I have had. I didn't feel like it's a fast Vet office wher... read more

Came once before and had a good experience. Came back in because my dog had a hot spot that she kept bitting at. Vet (younger woman) was wearing a paper mask and coughing and sneezing during my dogs exam. As she examined my dog, she made snide remarks about her teeth and ears. There was nothing wrong with either. She also insisted on a an expensive blood draw and medication for the hot spot. Medication never worked and I was asked to collect my dogs urine and bring it in. Collecting urine on a female German Shepherd is not e... read more

I don't typically write reviews however I feel this was simply an outrageous charge. I have a 14lb little dog that needed an allergy shot and I requested his nails be trimmed. Shame on me for not getting pricing up front. The shot was $101 that's fine. The technician was $27. Ok. Now the nails were $57. My dog was in the bag less than 5 minutes for everything. $9 biohazard fee as well guessing that's the needle. I shared it with my best friends father who was a Vet in Phoenix and he said "Man looks like I retired too early!"... read more

The person answering the phone on Friday 5/30 was incompetent. I called to make an appointment to have my puppy spayed. When the person answered I told her my name and the pets name. She asked if I was a new client , I said no. She told me I would have to have an exam for the pet first. I told her I did not want an exam my pet had been in several times in the last months. If they could not make an an appointment we would go somewhere else, she told me she would check and call me back. No call back. I have an appointment We... read more

Business response:

Hi Robert. Sorry to hear about your experience. We require exams to perform pre-op labs and provide accurate estimates for your pet's procedure. This helps ensure we are providing your pet with the best care possible and ensuring they are healthy enough to undergo a procedure. We hope everything works out. Thank you Brentwood Vet

So incredibly saddening! We have had 4 dogs that were or are patients there. Our dog is 18 years old and we have been going there for over 25 years! We had an appointment 2 weeks ago that I needed to reschedule. I did so via text as that's what the recoding suggests. Our appointment was rescheduled to Feb 28th at 10 am, per the text message from the office. I called to confirm the appointment and was told that he was not " in their system" I was placed on hold and then was " helped" by someone else who asked me all of the sa... read more

Business response:

Hi Jackie, It looks like there may have been some misunderstanding. I noticed a note in your chart stating that you requested to have your pet marked as inactive to disable vaccine reminders. Typically, we wouldn’t handle it this way; instead, we’d recommend that clients unsubscribe from reminders via their Happy Healthy Pets App or through the email/text notifications they receive. We don’t usually inactivate a pet for this purpose. Regarding your recent appointment, we currently have five doctors on staff and, in most ca... read more

Was quoted low end $3000 up towards $4000 to remove a growth from my dogs ear and would not guarantee that it would heal properly...I scheduled the appointment but was bad timing from a monetary standpoint so we did not go through with it...Thank goodness we did not because the growth went AWAY on its own a month later...Then they have the audacity to send me a no show invoice of $100...

Business response:

Hi Savino We apologize for your frustration. Our records show you haven't been to our hospital in 2 years, and we have no record of an estimate for any growth removal. It may be something from a more recent hospital you have visited. Either way we hope Prince is doing well since we last saw him. Brentwood Veterinary
