I have been a client of Brentwood Veterinary Clinic since 2004. I have working dogs that receive regular check ups. I have seen a steady decline in the quality of Veterinary medicine over the years, and a steep increase in their costs. The last two procedures that I have had performed on my dog had to be repeated due to incompetence and, (in my opinion) lazy medicine. The last procedure cost $450.00 and I was just told that it would cost me $750.00 to fix their mistake. For me, BVC has transitioned from a excellent, moderat... read more

I'm not sure how they won best of Brentwood so many times unless the quality of Vets in this area is that bad. My first visit was nice, friendly staff & fairly quick. I'm not a fan of people taking my dog away to give them shots I prefer to have them so it with me but the first time was okay. The second time I learned they were very overpriced for their services but again service was okay. You wait a very long time for your pet to get done they must have a waiting list back there or something. Today I decided I'm done.... read more

The only reason I'm giving them one star is because I was stupid enough to keep going back to them. Where do I begin? 17 yrs as a vet tech and a RN I should have known better... Last year my cat stopped eating. Brought him to vets and he had a 105.3° temp. Ran bloodwork and X-rays. Vet is convinced it is a foreign body. We do exploratory surgery only to find absolutely NOTHING. So $2500 later, I get sent home a still sick cat, who now has to recover from the surgery as well as fight off the initial viral infection he was di... read more

If only I could give a negative star..Called for a Saturday appointment. Was told by the staff that they are not very attentive to clients on saturdays as they run on a skeleton crew. If I want the Dr to be more attentive to mine and my pets needs I should come in during the week! SERIOUSLY?! I don't care if that's how it is you NEVER telling a paying customer that they will not be attentive to my needs. How would you feel if you went to the dr and that's what they told you? I've using his vet for nearly 30 years. No longer ... read more

I brought my Mastiff here a couple times to a couple of different vets for his ongoing battle with allergies. They were no help what so ever. I tried to talking to Dr. Ruygt about his condition. Whenever I would try to talk to her about something she would snap back at me and either tell me I was wrong, or she would just completely ignore my concerns. I understand that I may not know everything about animals, but I'm also not an idiot and when I have a concern about my dog I would rather her just listen instead of her making... read more

My mom accidentally gave our dog the wrong type of Benadryl yesterday. She gave our dog 20mgs of the nasal decongestant. My dogs 80 pounds. I'm not home. My mom gives her the wrong medication. Freaks out. Calls this place. They freak her out more. Tell her to bring the dog in immediately. She might have to stay for all day observation. My mom and sister take our dog in. Dr Olsen said my dog has high blood pressure. She might have to stay for all day observation. My sister told dr Olsen her blood pressure might be high becaus... read more

This is the first Vet clinic that we've been where the doctors and the staff are not confident at all when around my pet or other pets that I have seen them handle. They are very jumpy, afraid, and panicky. Dogs tend to not trust people who are not confident around them - how much more if it's someone that's supposed to make them feel better. Every Vet that I went to before are very good around my pets - they were very affectionate and confident around them. The younger looking Caucasian Vet was shaking when he was examini... read more

I went in to the vet with my dog who had a very deep gash in its back leg. I was asked if I had an appointment?? Uh no I replied, I was told that they don't take drop ins and I would have to go somewhere else. I am not sure why they call themselves a hospital? It is misleading to me. You are just another vet that's all.

We have been going to Brentwood Vet for over 14 years. Service depends on who your vet is. Today, I brought in my newly adopted dog to have a splinter removed and saw Dr. Hansen. He quoted me an outrageous amount over $500 And wanted me to take my dog to a behavioral specialist!!! I have all the records from the previous owner and the dog is in good health. BEWARE of the extra costs they are charging you for unnecessary tests and x-Rays. They used to be fair and ethical....they have lost my trust. People need to be aware ... read more
