Upbeat, festive atmosphere but…Service was brusque, unfriendly and rushed. Coat check wasn’t offered. The chicken parmigiana is the size of the dinner plate, making it unappealing - instead serve half the amount of chicken (still plenty) and include a vegetable and pasta.
I have memories from years ago of fresh scratch made food, very authentic and very warm family style environment. Last night they accommodated us 30 min early by placing us at a table next to the wait station where our chairs were bumped and banged continuously and mercilessly. I probably would have forgiven that if the food was decent. My wife ordered tbe bolognese which reminded me of something we’ve received from “The Farmers Dog”. The quality of food we feed our dog may be better. I ordered the chicken Parma which was pr... read more
Hugely popular, very crowded, very noisy, so-so Italian food. Its main draw is its closeness to Lincoln Center.
I’ve been a patron of Cafe Fiorello for years as I’m a season holder of ballet tickets at Lincoln Center so I stopped by for a quick bite. The waiter was indifferent, took my order, dropped off my drink and did not stop by to ask if I needed anything or advise on the status of my order. I tried to flag him down and was ignored (he stopped at the tables nearby) so I asked the busboy to get him. Finally after a 45 minute wait with no waiter I got up and went to the hostess station and told them I was leaving but would pay for ... read more
Food was below average. The penne vodka was watery and tasted like marinara. The food came out so quickly, I wouldn’t be surprised if the pasta was pre made and heated. Way too overpriced for quality of food. The waiter was the only positive. He was very attentive
Terrible brunch dishes! French toast was burnt and dreadful. Omelette ok, but overcooked.
Not a great experience. Service was sub-par and the restaurant was very full and chaotic. I think they have too many people doing too many jobs and so service suffers, therefore too does the diner experience. Very loud and I’ll use that as the excuse for our server not hearing our orders correctly. Not great. With so many restaurants around there are better choices available. Sad to be writing this, however that was our experience. Many things needed to be better.
A piece of metal wiring was found in one of our dishes.
We wanted to love this place but were very disappointed. Service was lackluster at best. 3 of 4drinks were delivered promptly but my husband actually had to leave our table to find a server to ask for his. (The server took it off the check without being asked, but 🤷♀️). Server never came back to check on us after our meals were dropped. We had informed him that we had a 7:30 show to catch but still we had to flag him down to ask for the check in order to get there in time. Had he asked us how our food was, we would have to... read more
