My husband and I were very disappointed in the food at Cafe Fiorello. My husbands meal was pre made and tasted terrible (chicken Milanese) and I had the dover sole which was just ok. For the price we paid for our meal, and being near Lincoln Center, we expected it to be much better.
Have been going here for 30 years. Waitstaff is always lovely and attentive but food has gone down hill. Pizza oven wasn’t working. Just is not the same. Miss the old Fiorello’s where the waiters were actors or artists and the pizzas were thin and delicious. Now it seems like a pre-fix theatre menu in a semi Italian style restaurant with mediocre food in a good location. And super expensive.
I went specifically for the pizza and was told the pizza oven was half broken and there was a group who ordered pizza and so I could not order pizza. Makes no sense. My friend ordered penne in vodka sauce. It came and it was penne in red sauce.
Cold bland food. Poor service. End of story

Made us wait 16 minutes despite the fact that we had a reservation and full party.
I requested that a yellow rose be at the table upon arrival. The request was accepted but the rose never appeared. If you can't deliver upon a simple request, you shouldn't offer the service.
This is overpriced and not very good Italian food. The pizza was marginal. Wine is ridiculously priced. The whole thing is about paying for the convenience of eating near the Met. Skip it
They live in another reality. Their take on Italian classics: Italian Wedding Soup, chicken soup with a meatball plunked into it. (Ordered from the "Appetizers for 2" suggestions, it comes in one full bowl with a second empty bowl, you have to ladle the soup into the second bowl yourself.
