I bought a used car in April from David on the sales floor. Throughout this review please keep in my this is my first time buying a car and I can promise I will never buy from Capitol Chevrolet or maybe any dealership again. Let's start with, I was in the office with David and we were going over price, getting approved, etc. David advised that with me purchasing this car I get 2 free oil changes every year for the life of the car. Went to get my oil changed and tires rotated. Grease hand print on hood (of white car) grease outside on passenger door, driver mat and inside of door. Air was not added to tires or PSI reset in interior. No updated oil change tag/date/miles. Left multiple messages for service contact and service manager. No returned call.

Let me explain my worst experience at a dealership. I made an appointment to see a certain car. Get there we go to look at it. It's been sold! Then they were trying to push a Porsche on me. Which is way out of my price range. Then a Mazda CX-5 I kept telling them I didn't want anything over like $28,000. It was even what I wanted and they were like we can make that happen. Had are few month old Tahoe sun room leak and flood the inside. We took it to capital to get fixed which was a pain with the lady that helped us. After getting it back the vehicles dash and windshield was dirty and now the inside lights are flickering. We called and got the same lady and she said we have to drop the car off and it will be at least seven days to look at it and they have no loaner car. Took my son there to find a decent used car. Good selection on the lot, but mostly way out of his price range (he's a college student). Was very clear with the Sales Rep about our budget. We looked at some prospects in a satellite lot, and made note of a few. Back at the office, I kept asking the associate for a general estimate of WHAT the car cost that we were focusing on, but he pretended to need his Boss's input, etc., which I sensed was BS. Worst company to do business with. Save yourself the experience that I've had. Taken advantage of & sold a car & they offered to paint the scratches & made it worse. Told get my money back to me,with returning my warranty & they mislead me. They do not respond back to you,the manager Especially! Don't buy a car from crooked car salesman,they will take advantage of you.

I live south and prefer to do business close to home, but when I took my Silverado in last week to be worked on - it was the Air Bag recall, I was told 1) I needed an appointment (understood) and 2) that it would take 2-3 days!! I questioned her on that, but then said, I had not choice - book the appointment. I need my truck and I'm driving at risk of that airbag going off anytime. This review is for the service department. Like other reviewers have reported, I made an appointment to take my vehicle in and upon taking it in was told it would be 3-5 days before it would even be looked at. I asked if I could bring it in when it was my turn in the queue and they said no. I decided to leave my vehicle because I need a working one and figured I'd only be delaying the inevitable. First and last car buying experience with the used car department at Capitol Chevrolet in Austin. As a first time car buyer, I definitely felt like this dealership took advantage of me even though i did thorough research beforehand. They will rush you through the process and not explain anything to you.
