Company/Technician contacted me immediately on Angie's List which is a BONUS! Technician provided excellent customer service over the phone and in person. Technician arrived on time, very polite, and courteous. What I didn't like is that he performed the work without telling me the issue first and price it would cost to repair. I blame myself because I was out walking the dogs for 5-10 minutes while he was diagnosing the problem. Secondly, Technician didn't vacuum/clean up the debris/sheddings from replacing the outlet, didn... read more

Business response:

The subscriber contacted us on Sunday, described the issue and asked a number of questions including the price. It was explained that we charge on a time and material basis and the estimated cost would be $125-$175 based on whether the service took 30 or 60 minutes. The subscriber requested a Monday appointment (the following day) at 8AM. We re-arranged a techs schedule to accommodate her busy schedule and resolved the issue quickly for exactly what we estimated the cost to be. After the tech resolved the problem he had to r... read more

Cancelled appointment I made an appointment and after I gave all the information, I was told I needed to give my credit card number to reserve the appointment. Maybe I am old fashioned, but I am not about to give out my credit card info before I get any service done.

Business response:

No reason to get upset. If you do not agree with our policies, you have every right not to make an appointment. Posting a poor review, is rather unfair. Just like the Hotel and Rental Car industries, we require a CC to hold an appointment. We do not charge anything to the card without a customer's approval. This policy has virtually eliminated "no shows" which were a big problem prior to implementing the policy 8 years ago.

I called on a Friday within their working hours and was told they would call back on Saturday. They didn't. So, no work performed because no response to my call was made. I contacted them to assist with a faulty circuit breaker.

Not good. CET quoted the estimate over the phone but when Jessie came to the house he said I needed additional 'boxes' to do the work right because there were none on the house. I said that's fine and was happy it would be done right. Then he said he had to charge $125.00 for coming even though he did no work. I asked why they didn't ask ahead and he said 'homeowners wouldn't know'. I called and Steve and he said the same thing so I asked if some of the $125 could be applied to the scheduled service as I was Angies, military... read more

I had an appointment to install 5 lights on my house today and Jesse arrived on time was very good. He explained the safest way was to have boxes behind the lights, which I didn't have. The charge was $125 for the call and we would re-schedule. I called CET later and asked why they didn't ask me up front to check this (when I scheduled), so CET could have the boxes with them when they arrived today. I can easily see the lights have no boxes (I put 1 of them in myself) and could have told them that in advance, preventing the ... read more

I showed the representative the outlets to be replaced and the representative began working, replacing a few outlets from 2 prong to 3 prong. Then, an issue came up. The electrical outlets were not grounded, so all the outlets would need to be replaced using a different type of outlet called a GFI. The representative informed me these outlets cost extra and that he would have to check if this was included in the deal. After checking with management, I was informed by the representative that it would cost extra, $15-20 per ou... read more

Business response:

Correct. The fine print did not mention that ungrounded (2 prong) receptacles were not covered, This important information was disclosed in the promotion itself (in big easy to read print). Our tech obviously identified the discrepancy immediately and the customer was offered a 100% refund or the option of continuing at additional expense. He complained that he could buy the material cheaper than we charged and in an effort to appease him, we rescheduled the appointment (not allowed under the promotion, supposed to be one vi... read more

This company was sent to me by my Home warranty company. The individual that was sent was very incompetent and disrespectful. I was asked what happened but the "electrician" had his own scenario. He kept repeating himself to the point that it became gibberish. He broke a $10 light bulb while attempting to unscrew it. He did not even replace the light bulb with a cheap one. He simply left the broken light bulb in the light fixture and screwed the globe back on. He threatened to call my warranty company and say I refused servi... read more

Business response:

The subscriber is a tenant in a home that we serviced for a Home Warranty Firm. The house had multiple electrical problems due to poorly done work by the tenant which was unsafe and in violation of the owner's warranty policy. After reporting the issues to the HW firm, they denied coverage and instructed us to leave. It is important to note that we work for the HW firm and not the resident and are bound to follow the guidelines of our client. When HW firms deny coverage, residents are typically unhappy and like to take out t... read more

We scheduled an appointment for several items (first time scheduling with Certified Electrical).? They called me the day before the scheduled date and told me their electrician had an emergency and couldn't make the appointment, so their next available appointment was a week later.? My husband and I both took off work so that we could be home with the electrician today for the appointment.? I called to check to see where we were in the list of appointments for today.? The man I spoke with had no record of our appointment.? H... read more

. I had to send the technician away halfway through the job because he just wasn't doing the job. I called the office, and talked to the supervisor, and they wanted to send someone else out, the person who came out to do the big deal work. They scheduled it, then they canceled it, and so I just went with someone else. He was an older guy, it was not like he was brand new to the job. I had to send him away, and he wasn't able to finish the work.
