UPDATE: I've been having problems with the bathroom circuit since we had CET come and do the work (circuit trips frequently when I turn off the lights and fan.) We called to have them come back they said there was nothing they could do unless it was happening all the time. We recently called to have them do an estimate for more electrical work in the house and they said that the job was too small (or too big...can't recall) and they couldn't do it. We hired another electrician who found that CET had wired our bathroom li... read more

I called the morning of 8/1 to inquire about having an electrician come out to hook up an outlet for a dryer. I explained the work to the person that answered the phone (this was a company representative and not an answering service). He said someone would call me back, but no one ever did. I found another company to do the work.

They showed up when they said they would. I got an Angie’s List Big Deal coupon for $75. I understood that if they had to do any additional work there would be an additional charge. I had the ceiling fan installed in the condominium for my tenants. I haven't seen their work, but my tenant is happy. There is a lot of demand for their services, and I had to wait for the installation. He said he was a subcontractor. He wanted to charge me a lot to upgrade the box. He was trying to double my cost. I felt it was a rip-of... read more

Gary called me the same day and he asked me to describe the location for the work, the type of work etc. which I provided. Gary gave me a firm estimate of $250 and told me that their first opening was the second week of June. He asked I send him an e-mail to confirm the Friday of that week (June 17th ) by e-mail which I did on June 9th, Gary then sent me a reply to my confirmation stating that he didn't have my telephone number, which bewildered me since he called and spoke to me by telephone. I replied to him with my telep... read more

After I contacted Certified Electrical by email saying I would like to get an estimate, they first they asked me for a list of the work to be done, which I provided verbatim from another firm's written estimate for accurate comparison. Then they emailed me back asking me to go measure things, take pictures and email them, etc. They seemed taken aback when I asked for someone to just come out, look at the job, and provide the estimate. Finally, they were only able to narrow down the time for a site visit to a 4-hour window... read more

Since when is a credit card number required to get an appointment with an electrician? I'm not about to start giving that out over the phone, especially before any work has been done. To make matters worse, the email correspondence lacked professionalism.

I used Certified Electric ("Certified") for a Safety Inspection, offered through Angie's List, several weeks before this review. Certified identified a potential problem, and I contacted them for a follow up quote. I specifically requested a call the day before the scheduled appointment. No call made as requested; instead, called the same day (I missed that call, and returned the call 20 minutes later). Treated me very poorly on the phone, stating that "We call thirty minutes before a scheduled appointment." Representativ... read more
