CET installed recessed lighting and installed a new oven circuit. The technician worked for 12 hours split over 2 days; a 4 hour shift and an 8 hour shift. The two days were 11 days apart and he never finished the job. He left early the first day to go to a Redskins game, red flag #1. Then I could not schedule him to come out for another week, red flag #2. CET clearly does not care about its customers. Not only did they put a huge scratch in the brand new hardwood floor with a ladder but the technician uncovered a significan... read more
I purchased the Big Deal with Certified Electrical Technologies back in April of this year. We were looking to install a couple of additional outlets and possibly have some fixtures checked out for wiring shorts. We contacted them to schedule an appointment and the conversation left us uneasy about Certified's willingness to do the job. It's possible we were weren't clear about what the work we wanted performed, but there was a distinct communication breakdown. The person we spoke to seemed more interested in going over the ... read more
I purchased a $140 Big Deal for electrical work for 2 hours of licensed, professional electrical labor. This was intended for the installation of a light fixture inside a closet, and for checking out/repairing a non-functioning roof deck lighting system. The electrician did a great job with the closet light fixture, and found a minimally intrusive way to create an outlet for it inside the closet. However, I discovered too late that this company refused to work on low-voltage systems like my roof deck lighting. Since the ... read more
CET completed the work as agreed. It was accomplished in about 16 hours spread out in three days over a two week period. Nothing spectacular about the work or the company.
Not impressed! I called for an estimate for installing a small, 6 circuit breaker transfer switch to my home's main circuit breaker box for emergency backup power from a portable 6k generator. The estimate was $600, which seemed high for such a small job, but the kicker was they wouldn't test the installation for proper functioning with the portable generator. When I explained this project was for EMERGENCY BACKUP POWER, and how I would I know if their install would function correctly during a critical power outage, he ba... read more

CT: I'm an avid AL user, having renovated two single family homes and a condominium over the last two years. I am looking for an electrician to completely rewire a 3-story 1939 home and 1/4 acre of outdoor lighting and lamps - a substantial residential project for which we have already received one estimate: $13,800. I was very interested in your company, given the large number of feedbacks you have received and the overall A rating. But reading the grossly unprofessional and rude comments you leave each and every time a ... read more
We had an electrical problem. On a Sunday, American Home Shield, our homeowners warranty company, assigned Certified Electric Technologies to come out and look at our problem. As far as I know, Certified never called us. On Tuesday evening, we received an email from Certified asking if we wanted to cancel the work order since they had not heard from us. On Tuesday night,I called and left a message with the answering service asking for someone to call us on Wednesday to schedule an appointment. No one called. I called C... read more
I can't stress strongly enough how much I would AVOID this company! Not only did they botch the initial wiring so that when the cabinet installers arrived the wires were too low for them to hook them up or be hidden inside the cabinet, but when I called CET to get assistance I was connected to a man who believes he is GOD--literally. This man, Gary, came on and asked rudely what I expected him to do about the problem. This would've been bad enough considering he is the owner, but when I tried (3 times) to explain the proble... read more
