Got quote ver phone for $2400. For service entrance cable to meter, from meter to box, new box, etc. was told BGE wants upgrades to 150-200 amps. This appears to be a lie. BGE was at the house the day before the estimate and told us 100 amps was sufficient and to beware of contractors trying to work for unnecessary upgrades. Another contractor came to the house (free estimate), visually inspected and said we needed 100 amp replacement at a cost of $575.

Based on the terrific reviews here, I was surprised at how discourteous Certified Electrical Technologies' estimator was on the phone. From the very beginning of the conversation, Steve was rude and condescending. He interrupted me several times. We wanted to have bathroom vents installed, but also wanted to have a ceiling fan and several fixtures replaced. As I started to list the projects, he cut me off and said they do not do the duct work for vents only install and connection. He explained this to me like I was a child, ... read more

Based on their positive reviews on Angie's List, I called CET and scheduled some minor electrical work in my father's house. I was given an appointment "window" of three hours and told that if I failed to keep the appointment my credit card would be charged for it. Steve Ellkins of CET then sent me a most emphatic e-mail reiterating the same point: "Our tech will call you approximately 30 minutes prior to arrival. Please make sure we have the correct phonenumber to reach you and to answer your phone when he calls. If the tec... read more

We are so upset about the way that the technician handled our Electrical situation. The cost was so low due to the fact that it was through our Home Warranty. The company was good about calling the schedule service and were able to come out pretty quickly. When the technician showed up he stated that he had 25 years of experience and that he was confident that he could fix the problem. He opened several outlets and stated that there were wires touching and that he had fixed the problem in the kitchen and in the office. He d... read more

Eric arrived on time as promised, having called about 1/2 hour before to notify us he was on the way. I cleared easy access to the breaker box, and he opened the breaker box toassess the situation. He had to relocate a breaker to allow the surge protection breaker to beinstalled, and close enough to the monitoring device to be attached together. He asked me whether I preferred the monitoring device to be mounted interally and hidden to save the $20 for the monitoring device mounting plate (which looks like a household light ... read more

I got an email response from Steve Elkins asking me to call to discuss my project. I had purposely put in detailed project information in the Angie's List contact request form. Measurements, existing service, etc. This was for the electrical work to install a bathroom exhaust fan through an exterior wall at ground level. When I called he answered and it was clear he had no idea what I was talking about - didn't know my name or anything about the project. But he asked me to tell him what I was trying to accomplish. When I des... read more

I sent them an e-mail on Tuesday when I purchased the deal. They responded back to the e-mail so I called. The receptionist said that Steve was on the phone but he would call me back. He called me back on Tuesday at my home and office but I missed both of those calls. I called back again on Tuesday and Wednesday and spoke with the receptionist each time who always stated that Steve was on the phone and I'd get a return call. I didn't call on Thursday and I still haven't received a call back.
