While the food and service were good the ambience and decor were lacking. I would have thought with the name Chocolat that there would have been cocktails and menu more centered around cacao and chocolate. There were scuff marks on the walls, some of the chairs and bar stools banged up and with small tears. Establishment is not what it used to be. Disappointing.
Well, the Only thing that was good was the customer service. Woodie was a great waiter... he made it "not a waste of time" but the rest of the experience was not extraordinary. I ordered the 3 eggs with Turkey sausage and roasted potatoes and my bf got the Turkey burger. It took so long to receive the food and then it just tasted "normal". I was better off eating Jimbos. The same quality for less.
I heard it was a good brunch spot, but I was disappointed by my visit. I made reservations in advance and when I got there I still had to wait 30 minutes. I expected the restaurant to be more upscale; the chairs were worn, the bar looks old, the decor and setup could be improved. The greeter was not very friendly at first, but when she noticed my irritation, she became more accommodating. Let me start with this- the place has a B rating which I wasn't aware of until I showed up. The varnish on the tables has mostly come off and the chairs were peeling. Our waiters were inattentive- I was seated 10 minutes before anyone even came over to pour me a glass of water. The bellinis are not actually bellinis- they were champagne with apple juice which is misleading. The portions were not as big as you would expect for the price. Restaurant was almost empty but we were sat in an uncomfortable area. We asked to move but were denied due to server rotation. Food was okay but lacked seasoning. A little pricey for portion sizes. I’ve heard many good things about this place but I didn’t experience any of it.
I will not be coming back and I will be letting my peers about this experience. We had a reservation and still ended up waiting 30 minutes to be seated. When we finally get our app and drinks, we were being rushed by the host because these ladies did not want to wait to be seated. We were not even there a hour, he literally started taking the stuff of our table while we are eating. I was planning to order a main entree and I decided to just leave. They need to train their staff on customer service.
