If I had been writing this review a couple years back, it would have been a 5, because up until that time we couldn't have been more satisfied with Civic Feline. For about 10 years Georgia Blaine was our vet, and she was wonderful, but unfortunately she is no longer working there. The vets we saw after Dr. Blaine left were clearly competent, but they didn't seem to have the same level of caring; in fact, it almost seemed as if the general tone of the office, including all of the staff, had become less friendly and welcoming ... read more

Unhappy with customer service and lack of veterinary care. Brought cat in for urinary tract infection, asked vet about tests/procedures to be completed and costs....response was that everything will be applied to regular visit charge and that no extra charges will apply. I ended up with a $254 vet bill, which consisted of an antibiotic shot and some urine tests....will NOT be going back! Not even sure if my cat was given the antibiotic since symptoms haven't improved. They also were rude and unfriendly. They also told us... read more

I've been going to this clinic for years. They've been ok, definitely on the expensive side, but fine. Until recently, I would have recommended them. I've had to take my kitten (8 months) there several times over the past few months, because yes, she has chronic health issues. So far, I've spent I believe about $1,000 at Civic Feline and the doctors here (Ellis and Lally (sp?)) couldn't find anything wrong with her. They can, however, find ridiculous prices to bill me as they repeatedly told me they can't find the problem wi... read more

Never had a bad experience here...until today. I was told I'm not allowed to go to the back with my cats while they're having their nails clipped. I told the staff I was uncomfortable with this and she said it'd be very quick. 20 minutes later she came back with the cats and I told them how upset I was that they had taken the cat without me...and they didn't even apologize. I called a friend that works at Alamo Pet Hospital and she said the standard there is to take the cat back alone, but if a parent. wants to go with t... read more

We have been taking our cats to Civic Feline Clinic for our 2 cats yearly exams for a few years. Everyone is very nice. We recently found a lump on one of our cats shoulder and took her in to have it checked out. After feeling the lump for about 30 seconds the vet said that it was nothing to worry about and to "call her if it gets bigger". We took our cat to our old vet in Fair Oaks, CA (Hazel Ridge Vet Clinic) where we used to live for a second opinion. The vet immediately said that lumps on cats are never good and did a bi... read more

Had a very bad experience with this place, have to agree with the Yelper who described their "bait and switch" technique and emotional manipulation of clients of ill pets. My cat died as a direct result of going to this place. I am not in the habit of writing bad reviews. Just be cautious especially if your pet is ill. Perhaps check the BBB and don't be swayed by emotionalism when your pet's health is at stake.

I left my cat with them for 3 weeks. They promised not to keep her locked up in their small 3 x 3 x 3 cage for the entire time. They did. She did not eat for FOUR (4) days when I got her back. She had diarrhea. She was matted. It took her SIX (6) MONTHS before she would let us pet her again. I thought I was leaving her with people who cared about and knew cats. It makes me sick to think I placed her in this abusive place. It's a pity Yelp will push this information to the bottom of their listing because it gives real fee... read more

I've only purchased prescription diet from them only because they are extremely expensive and also they seem like they can't be bothered when you come in. I just found out I can purchase my Skeeter's prescription diet from PetSmart for $15.00 less for the exact same thing.

The veterinarians in this feline clinic are NOT professional especially dealing with really sick cat! My cat was so sick that we spent over $2500 in 3 months and they almost get my cat killed!!! The vets there are not professional and they tried to make excuses for not answering my questions and returning calls. Not until I seek for another vet in Encina Vet Hospital, the vet told me that the vets there didn't give my cat enough dose of the medicine. If they don't know how to cure a sick cat with Inflammatory Bowel Disease, ... read more
