I would give zero stars if it were not for Vet Tech Kim and Vet Roach who are absolutely wonderful with cats. The rest of the staff is childish, cruel and petty. My 20 year old cat was scheduled to get his Solensia injection for his arthritis and they cancelled his appointment. How cruel. PLEASE DO NOT USE CIVIC FELINE CLINIC. They were being petty because I questioned their policy and their staff was beyond rude. I have been taking my cats here for over 20 years. The business is garbage without Vet Blaine and Vet Ellis.

Business response:

Christine, Your future appointment was cancelled because you bullied our staff about our same-day urgent care fee and stated that you would not be coming back to our clinic. It did not make sense to keep your future appointment if you already stated you were not coming back. Our policy around same-day urgent care appointments applies to all clients. Due to the extra pressure these same-day appointments put on our staff, our urgent care fee applies. This nominal $16 increase is meant to compensate our staff for the extra tim... read more

i went in thinking they would be reasonable and super cat oriented. half of my expectations were met. we brought 2 cats for vaccines and to be wormed. we were there for about 30 minutes. they charged for 2 office visits, fancy worming liquid that absorbs through skin. the cats are strictly indoors, but didn't ask before giving rabies vaccines. when i questioned it, the vet came up with this crazy story about the possibility of a rabid bat flying into the home that could be attacked by a cat. in my 30 years in contra costa, i... read more

Wow, talk about bad bad service. Where is the compassion for animals? Got an appointment for 3 pm. We arrived 15 minutes early so she said come inside fill out the form - we went inside fill out one page form, and then just sitting in the lobby for 25 minutes. Finally, they let us in the room but waited another 25 minutes before Dr. Textor come in the room. She looks so exhausted and I could tell immediately she either over booked or just hates her job. She didn't even smile and not talking to me about anything. I told her ... read more

Business response:

Annie, we understand that veterinary care can be costly, which is why we always try to accommodate our clients to the best of our ability and make recommendations that prioritize the health and well-being of your cat. We also know your time is valuable and can assure you we make every effort to see clients in a timely manner. However, we also cannot always predict the wait-time as the doctor may be dealing with an emergency or urgent case right before your scheduled appointment - we appreciate our clients' flexibility and un... read more

DO NOT GO HERE! DANGER! Took my female kitten here to get spayed. Few days pasted and I noticed she had a golf ball sized lump on her stomach. I called the office and they said it was likely just edema and swelling and will go away. They told me to wait. So I waited and waited and waited. It got BIGGER and WORST! Now the size of a baseball! I finally took her to another vet, who told me she has a hernia in her stomach and when they opened her up & spayed her, they didn't suture her up all the way and now her intestines/orga... read more

Business response:

Kayla, At the time of the spay (October 2021), we were in touch with your kitten's previous owner as your name was not on the account at that time. This is why we worked with him only. When concerns arose about a swelling at the incision we recommended he bring in the kitten for observation, which he declined. You reached out to us in June of 2022, eight months after the spay, to inform us you were now the sole owner and suggested that her spay caused a massive lump in her belly and demanded we pay for further treatment and ... read more

I inquired about a tooth pull. The cost starts at $82 and goes up. The snotty woman who answered the phone said she couldn't even give a ballpark for a final cost, as if they've never, ever done a tooth pull before. Am I looking at $1000? $5,000? $10,000? Nah, just bring your cat in and we'll just gut you, and you'll like it, because we know you love your pet. Shady.

I have been going to civic feline for 25 years. my cat had a medical problem on Monday, they refused to treat her. I went to Ygnacio Animal Hospital and Dr. Wong took care of her right away. I will never step foot in civic feline clinic ever again.

Made an appt. A week and a half out after seeing good reviews and being new to the area, I come in the day before to pick up a cardboard Carrie. I walked in and was immediately yelled at from the front desk. "Ma'am put your mask on" . While the person sitting at the front counter with a phone to her face. I said I didn't have one I was just picking up a carrier. She never let me say it she continued to yell over me telling me to go outside. I was still being yelled at over and over to go outside. I was thrown off at how rude... read more

During the previous Civic Feline ownership, the personnel sent me ONE reminder that it was time to bring my (mostly indoor) cats in for their various shots. To date, I have received no less than five email reminders from the current owners for each of my two cats (10 emails) - just for updated shots. I am annoyed at this obsessive "marketing," especially when I called them after the third set of email reminders and asked them to take me off their email rotation. I realize that the newer ownership is trying to keep my cats h... read more

My cat has been having some mouth-related issues and after getting an inconclusive answer from my regular vet, I wanted a second opinion. I was pleased when this clinic was able to schedule an appointment the next day and said they would request records from my regular vet. The next day I go in and the vet pokes around my cat's mouth and asks a few questions. Zero concrete suggestions or educated guesses are made and I'm told the records sent from my other vet are blank. So I'm (kind of, half heartedly) told I can go back to... read more
