What disappointment. I am not sure if i visited the same clinic as all the other people did that gave a great review. Arrived for my appointment only to be placed in a room to wait for over an hour. Never did anyone walk in to say, there is going to be a long wait would you like to re-schedule? Who knows maybe i would have been left there all day if i did not decide to leave. Walked to the front only to be ignored by an employee, when she finally acknowledged me couple of min later, the look on her face was priceless, like s... read more
So grateful for Dr. Lauer at Frontier Veterinary Hospital for his excellent care! Anyone looking for a great vet and great office needs to go there. Phone is 503-648-1643. My sweet Lucy passed away on 7/4/2024 and we could not have asked for better care. While Companion was useless, Frontier excelled in their prompt and careful care. we now have a new puppy and Dr Lauer continues to impress me!!
Business response:
Hello Annette, Thank you for your support for over 12 years of services with Companion. We apologize for any inconvenience you experienced with our service. We strive to provide the best care for our patients, but sometimes unforeseen circumstances can lead to longer wait times. Since we are a walk in, first come, first serve urgent care clinic there can occasionally be times where we unfortunately have to put a cap on the day and refer clients to Emergency Hospitals. We understand the importance of timely communication and ... read more
Hard to get your pet seen because they go by first come first served. No acuity assessment or pet triage done, just write your name on the waitlist and hope for the best. The staff at the front desk need some customer service training. If I had to base the experience on the reception staff I wouldn't come here. When I walked in the staff member could barely muster a strained hello for a greeting. Pathetic. I guess learning how to say hi wasn't in their linguistic repertoire. Will update if I get my pet seen here.
Business response:
Hi Mike, As a walk in clinic, yes, we are mostly first come first serve, but we do triage in emergency situations. However, I am disappointed to hear about your experience at our front desk, as that is not the type of customer service we strive for and I'd like to apologize for that. We apologize for any inconvenience this day might have had on you by not being able to see your pet. I am not sure what the situation was the day you came in, but we do tend to get very booked during the day, and yes, at times have to cut off se... read more
They don't take appointments. Walk in only. You also can't call ahead. I came in at 11:00 and was told the wait was 1 hour. At 12:15 they put my dog and I in an exam room. No one came in! At 1:15 I came out to see if the forgot us and asked for water for my dog. It was 2:50 before we were finally seen.... Almost 3 hours. Make sure you have plenty of time to wait.
Business response:
Thank you for sharing your concerns Denise. We apologize for the long wait you experienced during your visit. As a walk in, urgent care clinic, it can be hard for us to gage an actual wait time due to urgent care and ER cases that might take longer than expected. We are always striving to go as quickly as we can, to provide efficient and timely service to all our customers. We are always striving to improve and appreciate your feedback.
This place sucks they waste your time and not worth your money waited 3 hour after they said it would be 20 minutes they waste your time and don't care
Business response:
We apologize for the inconvenience you experienced, Rory. As a walk in urgent care clinic, wait times normally exceed over 2 hours, depending on the urgency of cases that come in. We strive to provide efficient and quality care for all our patients, and do our best to get to all clients & pets are quickly as possible. We apologize for the long wait time and any inconvenience it may have caused, and we thank you for choosing Companion Animal Hospital.
Update: they never reached back out to me. I called and even asked to talk to the office manager and no call back so I guess they don't care.
Business response:
We apologize for any inconvenience you have experienced. We strive to provide excellent customer service and are disappointed to hear that we did not meet your expectations. We would like to address your concerns and resolve any issues you may have. Our manager did reach out to you after your last call, but wasn't successful at getting a hold of you. There is also an issue with us not being able to collect the notes from the ER visit that your pet had after your visit with us, in which we called 3 ER hospitals and they all s... read more
The staff at the counter were kind. The wait time was over 4 hours in the lobby. Which I didn't mind however the lack of care or attempt to even actually help my puppy was very apparent. The vet did absolutely nothing to help in fact once we were finally in a room it wasn't even 30 minutes later were we discharged. After 24hrs my puppy was still so sick and I rushed her to Tanasbourne Emergency Hospital where she remained for three days, because she almost died from Salmon Egg poisoning. I am very angry and bitter that the v... read more

Bad business model! Seems like everyone I talk to who has been a patient at this place is leaving because they switched to walk in only sometime ago. This business model only says one thing, that their time is more important than ours. No way to treat customers, especially those who've been patience there for quite some time.
Business response:
We apologize for any inconvenience caused by our walk in model. We have always been a walk in urgent care client, providing urgent care needs for our clients. Our intention is to provide more flexibility and convenience for our clients. We value your feedback and will take it into consideration as we continue to improve our services. If you have any further concerns, please feel free to contact us at (503) 693-1063.
After taking my dog to this vet for over 12 years with great care I am now going to a new office. When my dog was ill recently I came in 2 different days but they would not see her. Reason was they were too swamped with pets to see mine, even though she was well established patient. Dr Crepeaux never returned my phone calls to check up on Lucy. Fortunately, a new vet was found and she quickly started treatment for Lucy, and a liver tumor was found. SHAME on you, Companion, for not caring enough to see your own patient!! ... read more
