I had heard about the nyc opening a while ago and finally made it down to try it. Since I ordered everything medium spicy, I didn't get to try the famous hotter varieties. But everything was still really good. The chicnen was tender and flavorful. The fries were hot and well-seasoned. The guy handing out the orders was friendly. Arrived mid day on a Sunday. All seats were taken inside but there was no wait for ordering. I ordered the #3 combo - tender, slider and fries (approximately $15 including tax). I figured this would give me a chance to try mild and medium spice levels. It took about 2 minutes for me to get my order. The portion was huge!!! Neither spice level was really that spicy though. I ordered lunch online from Dave's Hot Chicken while working in New York City. I placed my order at 12:33 p.m. and received a confirmation stating that it would be ready at 12:43 p.m. Unfortunately, the order was not ready until nearly 1:00 p.m. The restaurant appeared to be understaffed, with only one employee handling the counter and register while also trying to manage walk-in customers, online orders, and deliveries from Grubhub, Uber Eats, and DoorDash. I visited Dave's Hot Chicken in Manhattan on July 5 at around 5:40 PM, and this was one of the most disrespectful customer service experiences I have ever had. Me and my roommate ordered this at 9 o'clock at night. We were expecting mac & cheese and good tasting chicken. However, the chicken was bad quality. In addition, the sauce was spice and no attention to flavor. The mac & cheese was ruined by the sauce, and the fries were soggy. It ruined our night. That's a little dramatic, but it definitely ruined the meal.
