My friend highly recommended me this place to try their fried chicken and I am glad I did. After trying it, now I get that why it's always a line extending outside the store. And Dave's hot chicken is equal to my other number 1 fried chicken place in KC metro. (I only eat fried chicken from that place before I tried Dave's since the fried chicken is a cheat meal for me, it has to be super good and worth it). After only one visit I am going to say it. Best fast food chicken you can get in the KC area! Holy cow, I mean chicken! First off, the size of the tenders! When it was a 2 piece tender meal I thought, better add one to be safe....that wasn't necessary. I tried the hot and was honestly happy it wasn't too hot. We saw a crazy long line opening day so we came back, anticipating a long wait and boy was it worth it! I had hot and extra hot sliders and they were amazing - mouth watering flavor, good heat, moist, and very generous portions sizes (calling them "sliders" may be deceiving as they are full sandwiches). I'd been waiting for Dave's to open and figured 2 weeks after opening was enough time to clear out the crowds. I arrived today, Sunday, at noon and it was already pretty busy. I ordered 3 #3 meals, medium and they were ready in about 5 minutes. Way faster than I expected. Would give an extra star perhaps if not for the really long wait. Way too long for fried chicken sliders/tenders, and fries. Had the hot combo 3. Was pretty hot (kind of sneaky hot). Flavor was good, but unspectacular. Fries looked good and seasoned, but actually were not that flavorful. I would say overall the food was good, not great, and although the portions were nice, it's expensive. I would not go out of your way for it, and if the line is out the door, choose something else..

Dave's?! In KC?! WHOO! I was excited to try this as I've heard about and seen about it so many times. Didn't try the Reaper...so no waiver signed over here hahha. It had just opened so the line was out the door, so it took some time before we were able to go in and order/be seated. I was scared of the spice levels so I just went up to Hot, but I think the spice wasn't unbearable (might try Extra Hot next time). Came out to try the new place, staff is accommodating, lobby is unique and plenty of seating. The line was long, 1 hr from the start to order, food came out pretty quick and was hot. I offered 2 #') 3's and 1 # 4 I would give it a 3.5 out of 5 on flavor portion sizes were great and daves sauce is 5/5 on it's own. I personally had mild which was not spicy at all ( wanted flavor over heat) The fries were 3.5/5 as well decent seasoning good crunch to them as well. If you haven't been come out and give them a try.

Worth the wait! I had it in Vegas, OKC and now right in my backyard. I got the #2 and tried the reaper and extra spicy . The reaper hit the spot for me. They have a weird consistency with their spice level tho from different cities. OKC extra spicy tasted like KC reaper. Whatever though. Customer service was great, food was great and I was satisfy.

Decent. Had the #1 (2x tenders and fries), hot. Wait wasn't too long, food was hot and fresh. Fries are good, crunchy and meaty on the inside. Could have used a touch more seasoning. Chicken was good, moist, reasonably seasoned. Hot wasn't that hot. I prefer Mother Clucker, but this is a good second.
