We have gone here plenty of times with our children. Food, staff and place itself is great. What I find ridiculous, however, is they don't offer free refills on regular beverages. Also, they usually fill it with so much ice there's barely any soda to begin with. Then, if you request a soda with no ice, they give you a smaller glass! That's beyond cheap and bad customer service. Most restaurants offer free refills, especially when they charge what Desaki charges. Came to Desaki's for my daughters birthday. A little pricey for the portion size. Definitely disappointed when they didn't acknowledge each person for their birthday like other Hibachi places do. Will not go back. We will stick to what we know.

Sushi is good quality, drinks are 🖓. Hate the fact that they force you to dine in and cough up 18% gratuity by not allowing sushi take out on tuesdays. Wtf? But yet I can sit in, order sushi to go. As long as they get 18% forcefully you can take your sushi �� what a joke. UPDATE: APPARENTLY DESAKI DOESNT HAVE TAP WATER. Even though the bottle is a mere 25 cents, the way it was done is a disgrace. "Oh sorry, we dont serve tap water." The chef's were absolutely awesome, the waiter was quick and on his toes. Unfortunately, the 3 stars is do to management. They fail to tell you that even tho it may be only one person on the ticket, everyone is charged gratuity. Doesnt matter if its 1 or 20. They say its in the menu, but who really sees it, were looking for food. We tipped both chef's $20 and the waiter $20. Then they give us a ticket with 18% gratuity? WTF??? Food was great- but I think the sushi rolls are much smaller than they used to be. Our favorite part about that place was always having to take two bites of each piece. Staff was friendly- but they charge 18% gratuity and then want you to leave more for your waiter because that 18%goes to the hibatchi guys- even if you did t get hibatchi-which we did not even have!!!! So that was annoying. Also- no dessert! 🍨 😫

*****READ THIS REVIEW****** We were told to arrive before 5:30 or else we would most likely be waiting for a table. Our party of 8 got there around 5 and we were seated at a large table. THE SEATING ARRANGEMENTS are ridiculous as we were seated to the side of and behind the chef and 6 out of the 8 people could not see anything. We asked to be moved to a smaller table with full view and we were DENIED. The manager told us that they could not move us as they fill the seats on a first come first serve basis. Omg, what a terrible exiperience, they try to pack so many people in at one table making it impossible eat without being on top of the person next to you.. The first table they tried to seat us at gave us a view of the chiefs backside only.... what a horrible night, not to mention they don't take reservations and we waited over an for a table, which coincidentally is how long it took me to chew my tough 50 dollar NY strip, then I had the opptunity to pick all the shells out of lobster...

This has got to be the worst dinning experience I have every had. First off the wait was 30 to35 minutes. I can handle that no problem, but when my wait gets to 50 minutes and you address the hostess stand and they tell you oh we are sorry your pager isn't working we sat your table a while ago we will get you int the next table. 15 minutes prior to that one of the hostess asked the party next to us what there pager number was and apparently thats when they figured out ours was not working but didn't asked every guest in the ... read more

We went here for my birthday (feb14).I was a customer a few times before so I had a email half off for customer appreation. We order apps and didnt get them till after half our meal was done being cooked .the food was ok the fried rice had egg shells in it ,the chicken was way over cooked ,when the bill came I showed the waitress the email i had and she said oh you have to show them at the door before they seat you .so i reread the email and it does not say that on the email I was just so mad I paid the bill and left
