Our senior bunny (Harley) had an emergency with a lot of poo stuck to his butt and diarrhea. We took him to see his regular vet in Oakley and found out she was out at a convention and nobody else was there that could help Harley. The receptionist then called a couple of local veterinarians to see if they treated rabbits and the only available vet that could see Harley that day was Dr. Dietrich. Wonderful doctor. My cat had an emergency on Friday just before 4pm so I called them to see if there was any way my sick cat could be seen that day. I explained I couldn't afford to go to an emergency vet. They had me come to the office right away, I live across the boulevard from them so I was there within 5 minutes. Dr. Dietrich was very thorough and did not rush through the exam. He explained what was happening and even did a follow up call the next day and again the next week. I recently went there for the first time with my brothers hamster. The hamster was acting very lethargic. I was able to make a same day appointment after work with them. By the time we got there the hamster was unfortunately on her last leg, she had cancer and tumors. They had to euthanize her. They were extremely compassionate. She was my brothers first pet and he was very sad. They gave him time alone with her and did not rush him even though they were closing. Our family recently move to Discovery Bay after 23 years living in Concord. Unfortunately we also had to leave our family vet of 23 years. We are so fortunate to have found Dr. Dietrich and Discovery Bay Veterinary Clinic. Dr. Dietrich and staff have treated Molly like their own with care and love. Thank you for making our transition easy and enjoyable.
Straight to the point: Dr. D is the most knowledgable reptile vet I have ever talked to, which alas out here in the depths of East County is hard to come by. We had an emergency situation with our pet rat. Our usual vet wasn't into today, and referred us to DB Vet. The office was great, able to squeeze us in, Dr. Dietrich was great, very knowledgeable about rats, which is not easy to find locally. Honestly, I love our local vet, but....I may have found a new vet for our rats! He was able to answer all of our questions & his rates are very reasonable.

Dr. Dietrich and his staff are wonderful!!! My dog Madison had been attacked by another dog, and even though it is not a emergency vet they saved her life!!! Thank you for all the love they showed my dog and me. THANK YOU!!

Dr. Dietrich and his staff are absolutely wonderful! I have a golden retriever who is very....lets say...enthusiastic ;) She can be a challenge to get to sit still, which obviously can make exams difficult! The staff here is always more than patient with her, and take the time to give her all the love and attention she wants. That said, I've never had to sit and wait very long for the vet to see us, and we've been going here for 3 years. We have been taking our 3 dogs and 1 cat to Discovery Bay Vet for the past 4 years and have nothing but good experiences. Sammy our 1 dog has Addisons disease and needed a shot every 25 days for rest of his life and the shot is not cheap but Dr Dietrich with testing has extended it too every 45 days. Thanks Doc PS--he also was the only doctor around who treated pet rats also
