i volunteer for a rescue organization located in Walnut Creek. The foster I was caring for became sick and took him the Dr. Derrick vs the hour drive to Walnut Creek. He was able to get us seen the same day. Given the limited available history on the dog, Dr. Dietrich very thoroughly evaluated our situation and did an excellent job treating my dog. I have a pet rabbit (OREO) and this vet clinic took great care of him. They checked his weight, his diet, and (most importantly) gave me peace of mind that he was healthy.

I just brought my Yorkie in to get a travel certificate to bring him to Mexico I called and they were cheaper than Petsmart which I was shocked the staff was so friendly Jennifer at the front desk was very nice and the doctor acted like he really cared about me Yorkie. I got his shots updated and had a great experience here

Our senior bunny (Harley) had an emergency with a lot of poo stuck to his butt and diarrhea. We took him to see his regular vet in Oakley and found out she was out at a convention and nobody else was there that could help Harley. The receptionist then called a couple of local veterinarians to see if they treated rabbits and the only available vet that could see Harley that day was Dr. Dietrich. Wonderful doctor. My cat had an emergency on Friday just before 4pm so I called them to see if there was any way my sick cat could be seen that day. I explained I couldn't afford to go to an emergency vet. They had me come to the office right away, I live across the boulevard from them so I was there within 5 minutes. Dr. Dietrich was very thorough and did not rush through the exam. He explained what was happening and even did a follow up call the next day and again the next week. I recently went there for the first time with my brothers hamster. The hamster was acting very lethargic. I was able to make a same day appointment after work with them. By the time we got there the hamster was unfortunately on her last leg, she had cancer and tumors. They had to euthanize her. They were extremely compassionate. She was my brothers first pet and he was very sad. They gave him time alone with her and did not rush him even though they were closing. Our family recently move to Discovery Bay after 23 years living in Concord. Unfortunately we also had to leave our family vet of 23 years. We are so fortunate to have found Dr. Dietrich and Discovery Bay Veterinary Clinic. Dr. Dietrich and staff have treated Molly like their own with care and love. Straight to the point: Dr. D is the most knowledgable reptile vet I have ever talked to, which alas out here in the depths of East County is hard to come by. My turtles and tortoise (that's Mrs. T if the vet is reading.... :) are patients of the clinic. Dr D. and the staff are knowledgable, courtesy, and absolutely outstanding.
