I have been bringing Mamas here for a couple of years. When she saw Dr. Melissa Jacobs she was in great hands. The last few visits here were not the quality of care you'd expect for a loyal customer. Mamas was having issues with sneezing, reverse sneezing and coughing, her eyes were rolling in the back of her head and she was having issues with walking on 10/31/21 and Discovery Bay Vet was closed so I brought her to the Emergency Vet recommended by them in Antioch. They did a check-up and bloodwork and stated she had an in... read more

Very expensive and do not follow up with Lab results. Find another Vet. Anything other than annual checkups, vaccinations look for a Veterinary that offers full medical services. Just to take a look at a Cat and draw blood to send out to a Lab $405.45 They are closed on Saturday and Sunday so if you are expecting follow up from a Thursday visit forget it. Have been using this Vet for over four years, A previous call for a standard checkup for the dog I was told they are very busy you should look for another Veterinary, How's... read more

I have been bringing my 4 animals here for the past 4 years and within the last year have had multiple urgent situations where they were simple too busy to see us so we ended up at the VCA. This last time my dog had an emergency in the middle of the night I rushed him straight to VCA. Being under the care of VCA for 36hrs with little improvement I called to speak with his primary vet for a second opinion and I was met with this exact response "yaaaaaa Dr.Gray is too busy he won't be able to call you back" not even an option... read more

Gave the new vet Dr Gray a few try's after he took over this practice. While he may be knowledgeable we did not like that he talks more than he examines. When I take my dog in for a chewing issue and he doesn't even look in the dogs mouth that is concerning to us. He just says "well it could be this or it could be that". Maybe take a look and you can figure out the issue?! At the annual he didn't even touch him either he just asked questions. We went back to our old vet in another town and worlds different. So my advice to... read more

Very poor customer service. The office does not communicate well with there clients. Also, they make it almost impossible to purchase items through Chewy.com. Don't waste your time with this office.

Brought my dog in today for allergies and left with a $270 vet bill later. The exam was $59. I had no idea a shot of Benadryl was going to be $65. The Doctor still told me to go get more Benadryl from the store. The 6 oz. dog wash they had me purchase was $34.70. We looked it up on line and an 8 oz. bottle was only $25... these are just a few of the charges. I wish they would have given me a break down of these prices first. Way over priced and maybe unnecessary. My dogs situation is not any better.

I took my dog Rocko in last Friday, he wasn't doing very well at all when I took him in, he was swelling up not eating but drinking tons of water, the doctor charged me over $1000 in tests because he had no idea what was going on, then he calls me first thing Monday morning he needed to do at least another $500+ worth of more tests, meanwhile Rocko had taken a turn for the worst and we ended up having to put him down on Monday. I think they are in it for the money and just wanted to warn others and tell them about my experie... read more

We are SO glad we went for a 2nd opinion! We have taken our Lab, Lucy, to Dr. D since we moved to Discovery Bay in 2006. Lucy was now almost 13 years old. We thought Dr. D was high priced and wanted to always do many tests and procedures, but was conveniently located. Recently Lucy developed a very large, fast growing tumor on her abdomen. Dr. D performed a biopsy, which he said was inconclusive but did have spindle cells, which may indicate cancer. After the biopsy, Dr. D recommended X-Rays to see if the tumor had metasta... read more
