Easy to use, mediocre results Have tried multiple photo scanners trying to find one that scans easily and automatically, but with good results. This one does everything but the good results. Fast scans, automatically feeds photos, nice 600dpi resolution. The results, however, are too dark, no no matter how you mess with the settings. Browns and purples become black, skin tones as fee not accurate, etc. Too bad because I really wanted to love it.
Very satisfied Scans fast & really well. Excellent for multiple pages. It does take an extra step to save the pages to other areas of your computer if you don't want it just saved to the software program that comes w/ it. But, that's minor. Scans so clearly.
Scanner Works as advertised. Very happy with this product. Wonder what Brother has coming out next. Easy to connect to computer..
great for travel Well it is pretty compact which is great. The software needs to be installed for Win7. otherwise the driver won't be there. Also make sure the unit is directly plugged into a USB! A hub will cut down the power and the USB is only power source. This caused me a problem, each time I inserted a paper to scan, the scanner would shut off. Problem fixed by directly plugging it in. Obsolete--Won't work with Windows 11 and never will I love this scanner and have owned two of them. For reference, I've had 8 or 10 scanners over the years, and I've had two of these. I just discovered, however, that Brother would rather sell me a new model than develop a driver for Windows That means it's junk to me and will be to you, too, if you're on the Windows upgrade path.
Great scanner, but suddenly stopped working I've had this scanner for years and used it to scan thousands of documents (mostly receipts). I was very happy with it, but one day it suddenly stopped scanning. I get this error every time I try to scan a document: Error Code 2013 A document is jammed. Please open the Top cover and remove the jammed paper by pulling it forward, then try again.
This scanner is not compatible with IOS Monterey! This scanner was wonderful until I recently upgraded to the new IOS Monterey on MAC . There is not a driver installation available for this scanner now (DS Mobile 620). I called and spoke to Brother 3x until I finally got a straight answer, the scanner is not compatible to Monterey. Period. Now I have to buy a new scanner.
Edited- 4 out of 5 Edited- I was able to recover all the receipts, even though brother tech support offered zero help and only told me to contact Apple. FYI Apple offered no help either. Since I got all my receipts back I’m rating 4 of 5 for ease of use, function, price and design. One star loss due to stress of losing then recovering my receipts.
Do not buy if you own a MAC I purchased this due to size and reviews. I have a MAC, and it was advertised as MAC compatible. They are no longer updating the software. Their latest version is 10.5, and the latest MAC update is 11.9.1. I contacted tech support, and they're not updating software. I asked if I should just "throw it away", and there was no answer.
