Doesnt work on Catalina OS! I bought this and I can’t use it on my Mac - dowsnt work on the the Catalina OS!
Software not updated, can't use scanner Scanner Driver, TWAIN is not supported by macOS v10.15.3, which make this scanner useless to my Mac book. It doesn't work. (bought 2/9/2020, Mac OS updated to v10.15.3, Brother doesn't have updated software, which make this scanner useless.)
Not just bad, but a huge security vulnerability The (required) driver and software simply do not work at all, so that alone would merit a one-star review. The application just pops up a modal with an unhelpful "Initialize failed." Brother's documentation acknowledges that this is a common problem, without offering any solutions to it. But when trying to debug this, I ran into a much more severe issue: Brother's installer installs the TWAIN driver file as completely publicly writable (mode 777). Not compatible with newest Mac OS. This is not currently comparable with the latest Mac OS. I cannot use it. Waste of money if you only have on computer. Dissatisfied.
Difficult to set up drivers Very difficult set up
Outdated and hard to use This was terrible to use! Instructions for downloading we're confusing. It didn't work with my MacBook air. And it's very old and outdated. Please chose a different model. This one should be discontinued.
Hardware good, software major fail I installed the drivers from the enclosed CD, no scanner found. Deleted and downloaded the drivers from Brother thinking they'd be newer. No go. Contacted their customer support who ended up turning me over to a specialist who had to remotely access my laptop.
