I've been going there for over 8 years now and have been very pleased with how the doctors and the techs show their love of animals. They helped me through one furbaby (a Calico cat) having kidney failure and now are working with me for our other two furbabies ( a Norwegian Forest kitty and another Calico) No matter which doctor you get, they all give the same care and understanding of both our concern for their health and our concern for being able to finance any procedures. The building is always clean, both inside and ou... read more
The grounds on the outside of the building are clean. The waiting area is clean! Love the free cookies, coffee and pet treats! The staff is welcoming, efficient and knowledgeable. If an insurance claim needs to be filed they will help you through the process of gathering the documentation and faxing the claim sheet for you. They also send you a letter to remind you that you have visits to use if you haven't used them all before the insurance expiration date. I take Bongo in with me to say hi and get a treat (free cooki... read more

Hi Susan! Thank you for taking the time to review us on Yelp. We are happy to hear that you enjoyed a positive experience at East Maryland Animal Hospital and we hope to see you and your furry friends again soon!
Wow! You will always be the doctor for our pet bunny. We took her here for a second opinion after another vet told us she had a terminal illness and suggested that we spend $500 on tests and $120/month on medicine. The doctor here diagnosed her as having "Snuffles" which is like a cold for a bunny. She cleaned out bunny's eye and gave us berry flavored medicine. The berry flavoring is important because it causing the bunny to want to eat it. One final callout is the doctor personally called my wife a few days after the... read more

The EMAH staff are always compassionate, professional and treat you like family (a functional family ;) )! Dr Clemmons is our vet and was instrumental in helping us find a vet oncologist for our little corgi, Gracie! She's passed now after living beyond expectations and we miss her but we have a new opportunity and decided to take this opportunity in the form of a new puppy. Dr C and staff are so supportive....We have recommended EMAH to friends and we will continue to recommend and continue to rely and trust EMAH to assi... read more

Thank you for your generous feedback, Kristin! We appreciate your kind words and support!
I've taken CALISTA BELLE "CALI" (my Black Goldendoodle) to East Maryland Animal Hospital since we adopted her from Ohio 10/2015. We see Dr. Martens, whom we adore. We signed up for the puppy package PAWS for our first year, and now just pay as we go. The staff is always happy to see her. We even pop in there, with treats for the staff, even when she doesn't have an appointment so Cali will associate the office as a fun place. So far so good.
Business response:
Thank you for your kind words, Nadine! We love caring for your beloved Cali and appreciate you trusting us with her care! See you next time!
I brought my little female mix (12 years) in to have her left eye looked at, after a tangle with a relative's dog. I wanted to make sure she had no corneal scratch. She was examined by Dr. Schroeder whom was very thorough and pet friendly. She had a stain and flouroscopy of her eye for $59, no scratch, thank goodness. Dr. is sure she found a mass under some Breast cancer tissue and recommended surgery to remove the tumor. She said she thought it would cost approximately $900. She emailed me 2 quotes, one for surgery for the ... read more

Mariel, we are so happy to hear you found Dr. Schroeder to be friendly and thorough during your dog's exam! We appreciate your feedback regarding pricing and know that veterinary care can be costly, especially when getting into surgical procedures, as there is a lot of care involved. Our team is dedicated to providing high quality care and we would be happy to discuss treatment options with you, as well as everything that is included in the quotes to help give a better understanding of what would be provided!
I have had positive experiences with several of the doctors at East Maryland over the past couple of decades which have included regular wellness exams as well as surgeries and even euthanasias. The staff has always treated my pets and family members with compassion. And while veterinary care is getting increasingly expensive, there are never any surprise charges.
Business response:
Thank you for your generous feedback, Kerri! Our team looks forward to seeing you again soon.
