I had a 100% positive experience with EHS from start to finish! My daughter decided to attend a musical theatre conservatory in NYC which does not offer housing. I called and spoke with Adam Kaufman on Feb. 28th, 2013. He was so helpful! He answered all my questions with the utmost patience and was extremely reassuring. Adam was kind enough to follow up with me in a timely fashion, but was never pushy and certainly put us under no pressure. My daughter oscillated between getting an apartment and going to live in the St... read more

Short Review: Do not live here, you will regret it. Run as fast as you can from this company and its properties. The Details: I'm a grad student so I have four years of college life to compare my stay here to. Plain and simple this company is robbing students. For what I'm paying I could have a comparable studio- which arguably would be better because I'd have my own kitchen (more on this later). In addition to the money you pay to live here you pay (what I consider) outrageous additional fees for guests. Oh, and if you'... read more

Well... There are definitely worse I guess... Lets start off with what I like about these dorms. I live on the Clark side, however i have spent a lot of time on the St. George side as well. My side has decent rooms. EHS provides microwaves (That work maybe 45% of the time), Fridges (That are too small for 2 people to keep food in), TV's (That look like theyre from the 90's, don't work most of the time and when you bring your own in, theres no storage for these ones so you have to keep these huge tube TV's in your room), Beds... read more

I would give this place no star if possible as well. We can see this place is crooked in several ways. 1) http://www.nydailynews.com/new-york/dorm-king-new-york-wife-grab-millions-nonprofit-housing-services-company-article-1.139030?pgno=1 2) Look at the filtered reviews. The employees are clearly deleting the negative reviews to make the place appear something it is not. Take a look at the web sight looks nice right? Don't fall for that old newwwww yorkkkk trick. 3) At the previous postings take a look at the number of... read more

2.5 star rating. I had a similar experience to the other reviewers on yelp. I usually don't write reviews, but I thought I'd give a heads up for people thinking about living here, especially because there is a significant difference between what EHS advertises and what you actually get. I chose to stay with EHS during the summer for an internship in NY because I didn't have time during the school semester to go looking for a summer sublet. As a non-NY college student, choosing EHS eliminated that hassle. Overall, for the pr... read more

Dear Yelpers Since this review is over a year old, I would invite you to come on a tour of our buildings and see EHS for yourself. This entire property has been renovated (in stages) over the past three years. We give tours daily and are happy to show you the building, amenities and rooms. It should also be noted that we are under new management as of November 2012. Thank you.

If they took hotel out of the name maybe this place would be ok. Pretty lobby and first floor community areas. Dorms aboves. There was a turd in my toilet when I checked in, despite the paper band that says "sanitized" around the toilet seat. My main issue is not that it's a dorm, it's the utter lack of service or assistance from the staff. Check in took more than 45 minutes and they could not/would not answer any questions. All the parents of the students living here during summer internships were very irked at how they wer... read more

If it were possible to give no stars out then I would. This place was terrible. My boyfriend stayed at the St. George Hotel location over the summer. It's the equivalent of living in a dirty college dorm... if you are over the age of 18 I highly suggest not staying there. Also, you have to register your guests ahead of time in order for them to stay in the apartment that you are renting and paying for! They charge you something like $15 a night for guests as well. In addition, your guests are not able to come and go wi... read more

I stayed in a room at the Clark Street dorm for the summer, and it was a terrible experience. The room was incredibly dirty and unsanitary. There were pennies on the floor of my room and clothes left in the drawers. The room had not been cleaned. The lobby of the building and the pictures they have posted online make it appear to be a pleasant place to live. I had to change my room multiple times because of bugs invading my room. The company was not helpful, and the staff made me feel like I was a burden. This seems like it ... read more

wonder why their website(s) don't have pictures of the rooms??? there's a great reason for that---the rooms vary by cleanliness and safety! first off, i rated it a "one" because the lobby is nice. that is the only reason. the downside to the lobby....packing to go cook dinner. if you live on one of the upper floors, forget it. you have to bring all your pots, pans, food, etc downstairs ***every time you cook*** because they throw away anything left in the cabinets/kitchen. my room for example: live wires hanging from ceiling... read more
