For its price, this dorm is pretty miserable. I really regret living here for the semester. It's currently fall and the heat is turned up to an extremely uncomfortable temperature-- I have to sleep with both windows wide open (neither one has a screen) and the room is still incredibly hot. I've tried to reach out several times, and everyone I've spoken to has acted like I'm speaking another language. The wifi is off and on, which is another issue I've reached out about with no help in return. Small problems, but it's very lo... read more

Visited my boyfriend for the weekend who is living here for a semester. First thing that blew my mind was that he had to pay to have me visit him for 3 nights. Why? Not only did he have to pay for his own girlfriend to visit him, but I had to fill out a whole guest paper asking pretty personal info. What do they want next? My social security number? After all of that they then proceeded to take my picture, which stays in the computer afterwards. They finally gave me my guest pass (easier to go through TSA than to go through ... read more

The WiFi situation is terrible; it cuts in and out at random times. Water pressure in the shower is hit or miss (and hot water is not a given) and in the sink you can generally expect ice-cold or scalding hot. When I moved in my main overhead light was out and the TV didn't work; they did eventually come to replace the light (and I don't really care about the TV, but still points off for having it not work upon move-in). I'm only leaving this place with two stars over one because the staff I've interacted with seems ok, but ... read more

Business response:

As I type this, there are people here screaming at the top of their lungs, blasting loud music and pounding on the walls of their rooms. It is also past midnight here. I have lived here for less than a month and absolutely hate it. It is full of spoiled immature children. They are running a scam. They charged me for the whole semester upfront, and they told me I could move in earlier than I actually did. ONCE they had charged my card, THEN they told me I would have to wait longer to move in. Absolutely not worth the money at... read more

You pay 12-14 thousand dollars to share a double room the size of a single. You also need to pay 10 dollars to bring your guests in. The Resident Director lets not get started. Breaks into your room while you are not home and searches through your drawers, claiming they smelled contraband odors when you ask them to check the cameras to confirm indeed nobody has entered your room all day, they refuse to. You know exactly HOW I KNOW THIS?! BECAUSE I HAD A WEBCAM SET UP ON MY LAPTOP FACING THE entrance to my ROOM AND I HAVE t... read more

Business response:

Hi Kevin- Hope you are well. We were surprised to see these comments since you left in Fall of 2013. Did you mention any of this to the school that you were contracted through? As you know, your school sets the price of the room and handles all judicial matters. In regards to the hot water (and especially wifi) these are essential to the student experience! If they were out at any length of time in 2013, I assure you we would have worked 24 hours a day to get them back and running. Our clients could not live without e... read more

This is my second year dorming in St. George. Overall it is a good dormitory, nice lounge, kitchen and gym. But I am very disappointed this semester. The air conditioner has not been turned on yet. I only have 3 weeks left of school! What are they waiting for? I have had my windows open for 2 consecutive weeks now. My allergies are absolutely terrible because of this and I have complained to the student life desk and my RA. Apparently they can not do anything until the temperature is "consecutively warm". In my opinion I thi... read more

I was living at the St George from late August 2014 to mid-December of that year while attending Pace University. The St George is operated by EHS (Educational Housing Services) but I guess Pace had a deal with them cause several floors of the Henry Street wing, where I lived, were reserved for Pace students. I wrote a lot so for those who want a precise description, read the whole thing, otherwise this is a quick list of pros and cons: Pros: - close to Pace - community of students - location in Brooklyn Heights, and surro... read more

This is atrocious! Been here for a very short time and I've been greeted by two b.a. h. cock roaches in my room. The wifi is just as bad as it is at Pace. The carpets in the hallway scream clean me please, please, please. No screens on the windows, 1980 refrigerator, microwave from the same. I see some people have given the place a 3 or better rating. I guess its all relative based on what you're accustomed to! Paying over $7k for a semester expectations should be met not according to international students but nation... read more
