Being a huge advocate for pet insurance, I did a lot of research for my newly adopted rescue dog. Embrace seemed top notch and I loved that it was affiliated with USAA. Our first year was great., but then I was outraged that on my one-year renewal they wanted to increase my plan by 121%! I looked at my old notes and called and spoke with several representatives and was always told that 121% increase is very much so out of the norm, that most people only see a few dollar increase, maybe 25% increase, but there is nothing they... read more

Hello *********we are sorry to hear that. We appreciate you being a huge advocate for pet insurance! We know a premium increase is not ideal. Premiums do increase over time with all insurance products, and pet insurance is no exception. Some of the factors that impact premiums each year include the age of a pet, breed, and veterinary costs in the zip code where the pet resides. Our premiums are based on actuarial data of all the policies we have in force, and approved by each state’s Department of Insurance. Over the lifetim... read more
I secured pet insurance for my dog in 2020 and my premium at the time was said to be based on his age, our physical location (it was California back then) and coverages. The premium was $32.27 per month. In Feb 2021, at the renewal we had relocated to Rhode Island and the premium was $28.51 (lower because RI was quoted as lower). The premium in Feb 2022 was $33.50 and Feb 2023 $38.60. All the coverage remained the same. Then we got our renewal for this year and the premium jumped from $38.60 to $61.30! Nothing had changed in... read more

I'm sharing my disappointing experience with Embrace, marked by a questionable appeals process, selective use of information, and a blatant disregard for evidence. The appeals process appeared intentionally convoluted, with Embrace consistently ignoring solid evidence disproving their claim of a pre-existing condition in my pet. Despite a misdiagnosis by our initial vet and a second opinion confirming the error, Embrace refused to acknowledge the correct diagnosis. Adjusters and underwriters at Embrace selectively choose wor... read more

Hello ******we are sorry to hear you were disappointed with your policy, and your claim did not turn out the way you anticipated. The policy Terms and Condition, which are provided and agreed upon at the time of purchase, reviews our definition of a pre-existing condition which is as follows: 32. Pre-existing Condition(s) means: a. A Chronic Condition observed by you or your Veterinary Provider prior to the end of the Waiting Period for your Pet(s) and any related conditions; or b. An Illness or Injury that first occurred or... read more
This company literally tries to find every reason not to pay a claim 11 months ago vet left a remark that my dog had noisy breathing which could literally be anything he wasn't treated for it wasn't diagnosed so embrace deemed noisy breathing as a temporary preexisting condition 3 months ago my dog was in accident with four wheeler he seemed fine so left it go a week after noticed he was getting some discharge out his nose and was actually having a little trouble breathing threw his nose so took him to vet where they did ct ... read more

I am very sad to write this review today. For the past year my wife and I had been extremely happy with our Embrace coverage. As a family with six cats, we were impressed with how quickly Embrace would respond to emergencies once the initial claim is processed. When our beloved cat ********died, we were reimbursed nearly $10,000 of what turned out to be his end of life coverage fairly rapidly. Unfortunately, our experience renewing our insurance has not been similarly pleasant. Going from 6 insured cats to 5, we expected our... read more

They will do whatever they can to get out of paying you for basic care. My cat was experiencing a food sensitivity prior to enrolling him in this insurance (a half year prior). His main symptom was vomiting. Not surprising, humans often vomit when they ingest something they're allergic to or sensitive to as well. The vet suggested that we try a different food, I changed the diet, the vomiting resolved. At his next vet appointment, the chart clearly establishes that there WAS vomiting that was resolved by changing foods. Seem... read more

THIS COMPANY IS A SCAM!!! I'd give zero stars if I could. Everything about it! The policies are completely useless; there are so many "fine print" items that are not covered and they are looking for any reason to not have to pay. I spent $792.24 over a period of 3 months + vet bills and they reimbursed $395.38, majority of that I had to fight. Mind you, I was paying for 90% reimbursement! That's a difference of $396.86 and I get a whole $20.00 in prorated funds to cancel the policies. The representative and supervisor refuse... read more

Total scam. Embrace denied to provide coverage for a dental issue because the ***** *******could not provide detailed records on a rabies vaccine, as if a ***** ******* keeps detailed records on a free vaccine ;-) I cancelled and will move to **********as it is obvious they wont pay if any issue.
Business response:
We are sorry to hear of your frustration with the claims process, James. In order to process an accident or illness claim we do need your pet's complete medical history on file as our terms and conditions state: 8. By purchasing a policy, you give us permission to gather all medical history for your Pet(s) from all your Veterinary Providers as we deem necessary. The medical information must contain detailed Veterinarian examination findings and must be made available to us for review to satisfy the examination requirement in... read more
