Everything about my experience has felt borderline fraudulent thus far. They are not transparent with their documentation requirements, and it seems like rules are invented along the way about what counts as a preexisting condition, etc. Not to mention, it is basically impossible to know if your personal information and documents are being responsibly handled. At this point, I've lost all trust in their ability to manage my account and the document I have sent them. I've send one set of documents on a claim being held up 3 s... read more

This is obviously owned by an investment firm interested in highest profits not protecting pets and owner. My dog has never had a seizure. However because of a question I asked, which was not put down correctly by employee, not vet, seizures are now not covered. I saw letter her vet wrote to Embrace explaining my dog has never had a seizure plus she had had mild gingivitis which home care cured. Every exam lists neurological as normal. However after appeal Embrace chose to ignore the letter and keep a nonexistent condition. ... read more

We are sorry to hear you were disappointed with your policy, Elizabeth. We want to assure you we love paying claims and 92% of our claims qualify for coverage. We want to be upfront about our coverage and the exclusion of pre-existing conditions which is defined and agreed upon in our terms and conditions as: 32. Pre-existing Condition(s) means: a. A Chronic Condition observed by you or your Veterinary Provider prior to the end of the Waiting Period for your Pet(s) and any related conditions; or b. An Illness or Injury that ... read more

I have sent them 5 pages out of 5 pages on a bill for ************animal hospital All they do is ask for more paperwork and won’t act on the claim

Business response:

Hello, ****! In order to process a claim, we do have to have a complete itemized invoice. If it is an accident or illness claim, we would also need your pet's complete medical history on file as our terms and conditions state. We see you called today and spoke with one of our team members for an update, but if you have any additional questions, please give us call at ************ and we’re happy to help!

Embrace has doubled my insurance, I have 2 healthy dogs age 3 and 5 and have never even submitted a claim. They have had insurance for 3 years.... embrace has made good money off me yet we are paying almost 200 dollars a month now. Shame on them

Business response:

Hello ****** we are sorry to hear that. We know a premium increase is never ideal. Premiums do increase over time with all insurance products, and pet insurance is no exception. Some of the factors that impact premiums each year include the age of a pet, tenure of the policy, and inflation which includes the increase in veterinary costs. Our premiums are based on actuarial data of all the policies we have in force. Over the lifetime with any pet insurance company you are likely to see very similar trends, it just may vary wh... read more

I can't comment on their service however I have received unsolicited text messages from this company stating I have "opted in" because I requested a quote. Not only did I most definitely NOT request a quote, I've never even heard of this company. I don't even have a pet. When I tried to call them on a Saturday early afternoon, I got the usual automated message run around and then was told to call back during normal business hours. Poor business model if it's legit.

Business response:

Hello *******, we are sorry to hear that! You should be able to opt out of any messages that are received. If you have any trouble, give us a call at ************ and we are happy to help. Our Customer Care Center hours are: - 9:00am-8:00pm EST Monday-Friday / 10:00am-2:00pm EST Saturday

like everyone else says: embrace insurance is a total scam. it's a shame you can't select a negative-star rating. they score at the very bottom for me. in two years, my premiums have gone up 230%. two years. i have never NOT had to fight to get a claim paid. sometimes it has worked, sometimes not. mostly not. they just today denied part of a claim from an emergency room visit last week, because the probiotics my vet prescribed along with an anti-parasitic for a cat with horrible, unexplained diarrhea is a "wellness expense."... read more

What a rip-off. This company continued to bill me for 3 months after I cancelled, and continued to bill me after I requested they STOP billing me and after they promised they had removed my financial information from their system. If that is not bad enough for you, they spent more time making up "pre-existing" conditions that never existed with my cats so "conditions" could be excluded from my health plan (like "diarrhea" or "dilated pupils") then offering to cover anything at all. By the time we got around to processing one... read more
