What a rip-off. This company continued to bill me for 3 months after I cancelled, and continued to bill me after I requested they STOP billing me and after they promised they had removed my financial information from their system. If that is not bad enough for you, they spent more time making up "pre-existing" conditions that never existed with my cats so "conditions" could be excluded from my health plan (like "diarrhea" or "dilated pupils") then offering to cover anything at all. By the time we got around to processing one... read more

Business response:

Hello *********, we are sorry to hear of your disappointment and that you had trouble with the billing on your account. We have reviewed your policy billing and the correct refunds should now be issued with the removal of your auto-billing so there will be no more charges. We want to be upfront about our coverage and the exclusion of pre-existing conditions which is defined and agreed upon in our terms and conditions as: 32. Pre-existing Condition(s) means: a. A Chronic Condition observed by you or your Veterinary Provider p... read more

I bought my policy for my 5 yr cat - who is healthy 11 months ago - I just received a renewal policy to begin in a month and the price has risen from 26.32/month to 43.10 -- at least a 60% increase - i didn't file any claim for that year . I tried calling 3 times to get a person, but gave up each time after 10 min- no one answered ( normal work hours) I emailed, and someone did respond which I appreciate - with excuses of the reason for an increase - age; tenure of insurances (??) and inflation. I understand the inflation - ... read more

Business response:

Hello L***** we are sorry to hear that. We know a premium increase is not ideal. As our representative likely mentioned, premiums do increase over time with all insurance products, and pet insurance is no exception. Some of the factors that impact premiums each year include the age of a pet, tenure of the policy, and veterinary costs in the zip code where the pet resides. With each year a pet ages, they are statistically more likely to get sick or hurt, and we have to take that calculated risk into account when pricing premi... read more

This company is a scam. If you don't take your cats to the vet within 14 days of opening the policy, your policy defaults from Illness to only Accident. This is written clearly in terms and conditions. However, they will continue to charge you for the full policy and refuse to refund the difference. Terms and Conditions state: "Your Pet must have been examined by a Veterinarian in the twelve (12) months prior to the Pet Original Start Date as shown on the Schedule Page(s) or within fourteen (14) days after the Pet Original S... read more

Business response:

Hello ********, we try to be as clear as possible about our exam requirements and pre-existing conditions which are in the policy terms and conditions: Your Pet must have been examined by a Veterinarian in the twelve (12) months prior to the Pet Original Start Date or within fourteen (14) days of the policy. Failure to do so will result in the illness waiting period being extended to the date of the first exam on file. This is also agreed upon when signing up for a policy and sent out as a reminder in your onboarding emails.... read more

Pet insurance is a fraud and a scam. I signed up with them in August of 2023 and took my baby girl for a dental cleaning and in December of 2023 when I was already signed up with the insurance my doctor said that she has periodontal disease stage 2. I submitted the claim they came back to me and said the claim is being denied because you had your puppy has pre-existing periodontal disease noted prior to August of 2023. This is total b******* because I looked at all her records and even verify that with my vet and she said th... read more

Constantly deny claims. Absolutely horrible for an 'insurance' company to take $200 per month and consistently deny all your claims. This happens every time. Turn in claim for $300. They pay out $16. Crooks.

This company is a scam. Report them to the your state and federal insurance folks. They rejected my claims and sent a detailed list of all the things they would reject in the future (basically everything) after making multiple ridiculous requests, including requesting the complete medical history of my dog from the place he was neutered in 2013 (for a request submitted in 2024). They also repeatedly did not answer my questions, sent inquiries to the wrong vets, and raised their rates 25% from year to year.

Horrible customer service I have ever experienced with a pet insurance. Multiple ignored emails, attitude over the phone, and will do everything possible not to cover something. I work in the veterinary field and I will make sure to tell every single person i come across to avoid this company like the plague. Seriously hope you guys go bankrupt.

Business response:
