I agree with the other customers. This pet insurance is a scam. I have 5 pets on this insurance and not ONE claim has ever been approved for illness. They say my dog has skin and it had a bump once so now anything on his skin is not covered even when it’s completely unrelated to any prior diagnosis. Their “preexisting conditions” definition is applied to everything. I spend $400 a month for insurance and get nothing for it. Embrace Pet Insurance is a racket and a scam. They will tell you pre-existing conditions might be covered in a year, to get you to buy their insurance. Then a year later they tell you it’s not. They will decide your pet has a pre-existing condition, not tell you about it, and then you will have to find out when you submit your claim and it is denied. I had a policy with them for over 10 years, and it went ok. My dog, a lifelong Embrace Pet, turned 12 and the raised it from monthly payments of $155 to $358 overnight. I thought it was a mistake but when I called they said Washington State has seen huge increases...umm, NO. Then they tried to say it’s my dogs age. He is 12 and has not used his insurance in over a year because he has been healthy. Raising a payment over 100% is absolutely wrong, this is insurance fraud against your customers. If I could give Embrace Pet Insurance zero stars I would. This company is one of the biggest scams around. I got this Insurance for my two pets for my two Maltipoos, almost two years ago. We are a retired military in purchased this pet insurance because of the so called, great reviews and USAA. Before I got there policy I had to sent my pets medical records in case of pre-existing health issues. They have none so the policy was excepted. Do not deal with these scammers !!! I will have to tell all five people I referred for their pet insurance that this company has denied all my claims when my dog has been unable to retain any food and will continually vomit their food which has caused me excessive dues in ER visits and more with referrals to internists . My dog has been healthy for the last year without any issues. She started vomiting all food which I thought was perhaps a virus or something. Hands down the worst. They reject every single thing they can even when it's a FAR stretch from a surgically corrected pre-existing condition long before we got the policy. They have also denied basic medications attached to approved claims. It takes them FOREVER to process a claim - I have waited weeks for some and have yet to have anything processed timely. Very unfortunate to have to write this review. Embrace Insurance's #1 job is to find ways to deny your insurance claim. Found this out the hard way. This shady business will find every single possible reason and scrape the scum of the earth to decline your insurance claim. I can't believe how unreasonable they are. I have never ever came close to getting any reimbursements despite working with our vicenarians, providing all documentations, AND even getting a formal letter from our vetenarian. Our premium went up 100% after a year of perfect payment records. Embrace never had to pay us a dime in claims, then raised our rates so astronomically that we had no choice but to cancel the policy. When I called to ask why our rates had increased so much, we were told that "inflation in our area combined with our pet's ages" was the reason for the rate changes.
