This business is a scam. We rescued 2 6month old puppies in January and enrolled them in a policy as soon as we got them. Needless to say, with two young recuses, there were some health issues that needed to be addressed as we went along. We spent most of the year trying to get Embrace to even look at the claims we filed. They kept saying our dogs weren't covered because of they didn't have a proper health survey, despite our vet filing one with them. Despite supposedly having coverage for prescription drugs, they covered no... read more

My dog is now 13 and this is his 3rd insurance and by far the worse. They try and act like they are giving you good customer service by email but they never call you directly. We had the insurance over a year now. My dog gets attacked by another dog and they said there is a gap in my dogs medical history so they declined the claim. First off why does a dog bite need medical history? 2nd they are saying I need to fill a gap missing from medical history? If I’m not covered it would have been nice to know years ago when we regi... read more

After paying premiums for almost a year I finally submitted 2 claims totally around $900. To explain a little our dog was a rescue of 3 years old . The claims were submitted on line about one about a month ago and the other 2 weeks ago. After me contacting them on line asking about the claim I was asked for medical records for the dog one year prior to us owning him! How is that possible he is a rescue? We have absolutely no idea who owned him prior. Upon telling Embrace this they referred to some small print that basically ... read more

Business response:

Hello, I apologize for any miscommunication there has been with your policy. When a policy is first purchased, it is relayed that a pet must be seen by a veterinarian within 12 months prior to the policy start date for your policy to be valid. When requesting medical records, we request any records from 12 months prior to the policy start, which means that if a pet was recently adopted it would be from their first exam. If a pet was not seen within the 12 months prior or until the end of the 14-day illness waiting period, we... read more

I got a policy to cover my 8yr old lab thinking it was my best option to protect him from accidents or just things that might come up in old age. The monthly cost was a hefty premium, but I did it anyway to make sure he was covered. Every single claim I have submitted to Embrace is a complete and utter laughing stock of professionalism and competency. I uploaded fully-fledged and itemized records of the visit just to have them put it on hold for almost a month saying the invoice was illegible or incomplete. When I finally go... read more

Business response:

Hello, I apologize for any miscommunication there has been with your policy. Unfortunately, the claim for Cooper’s broken nail was for the date of service the day you purchased your policy, which was before coverage begin making it not eligible for coverage. As for Cooper’s cruciate ligament tear, this occurred during the 14-day illness waiting period, making it not eligible for coverage. It was also noted that he previously tore his left cruciate ligament a year prior, which would make cruciate ligament tears a pre-existing... read more

Scam company that lies to you about providing insurance for your pet. Just save money and pay yourself. They are not paying a claim for my dog Aragon’s bite or sting he received saying they need to review all of his vet records. We just signed up in April 2021 and they have all of his records because that is part of signing up for the insurance. Also why do all his records need to be looked at for a sting or bite. We even submitted the orthopedic report right away. All receipts all records of everything we have done for our ... read more

This company will find any way possible to not compensate you for your vet visits. In addition, their customer service is abhorrent and they do not care about you beyond what you are paying them. I found out recently that, due to my dog having diarrhea prior to me getting insurance with them, they consider that a "pre-existing condition". Frustrated by that and wanting clarification, I call their customer support and ask why this is the case and what the benefit is in me retaining them for insurance, only to bluntly be told ... read more

I have been paying almost $50 a month for coverage for my dog and the first time I use it, I found out just how much of a scam this company is. They pulled my dogs records to process a claim from an emergency vet visit in Dec 2020 when my pup was vomiting (prior to when the Embrace coverage started). The emergency vet ran all kinds of tests and nothing was found to be amiss, so she deemed it was just an upset stomach. I kid you not, Embrace decided that somehow "vomiting' is a pre-existing condition (yes, they explicitly sta... read more

Business response:

Hello, I apologize for the disappointment you have had with your policy. I was unable to locate a policy under the name that was given; however, if you have additional questions, please feel free to reach out to us directly for specific policy questions. As for vomiting as a pre-existing condition, a pre-existing condition is any abnormality noted in a pet’s medical records from 12-months prior to the policy start that is observed by yourself or a veterinarian. This pre-existing condition does not have to be a diagnosed cond... read more

This company finds every reason not to reimburse members for their pets' claims, even though they religiously take their monthly membership fee from your bank/credit card account(s). Isn't this why we sign up for pet insurance? Terrible pet insurance company! Just the worst!!!! They say they will try to work with you but they don't even try.
