If you decide to use Emerald Lawns, DO NOT pay in advance for multiple treatments! If you decide to cancel service you will not get refunded unless you call and email multiple times. They will say "that person isn't in right now but they will get back to you". It is obvious that they don't have enough technicians or can't keep enough technicians. Horrible customer service. Had the same complaint with them four times in six months. Management would contact me and ensure problems would be solved. Never followed up. Problems never solved. Cancelled service.

The people were very nice. Showed up and did services. Major problem is they would say to water after services. We were having irrigation issues and they don’t have an irrigation license. I don’t see the point of having a yard service to mow, these guys to fertilize and another company to fix irrigation. My lawn had a lot of weeds and before signing up with Emerald Lawns, I asked them to come over and give me an estimate of how things looked, and if they would be able to help. They came and gave me a very promising plan. And I got onboard. They also told me that if I thought that an additional treatment was needed, then I could call them and it would be done free of charge. Since they require the temperature outside to be hot before the product is useful, there is a small window of time to get them under control. Hired the company to perform top cover and lawn aeration. My lawn didn't do well over the winter after having a fantastic lawn last year. They said we can do the aeration and top coat, and perform weed ban and fertilizer. The the technician showed up, he did a high nitrogen fertilizer and weed ban which did nothing. I told him I wanted the aeration and top coat first, the lawn is stressed. He argued with me, and I said OK. The treatment did nothing. I received a communication from a representative who told me that there wasn't anything they could do to help my yard. I found that shocking, but also profoundly revealing. With that revelation I suggested they forgive my balance and cancel my services, considering they've determined my yard beyond help. They insulted me by offering a new contract where I'd get a forgiveness of my current balance, 50% off on aeration and only $2 off per application that was already determined to not be effective. The actual yard service is good but not great. The office is terrible. I don't know how they stay in business. They offer to let you pay on line over the internet. I tried five times and their system would not let mu do it. Each time I called I was given a different excuse. First their system was down. They said they would check and call me back. They didn't. This is the third year using Emerald Lawns. In the beginning they did a great job. Last year our lawn began turning brown and was much thinner, and the technicians started treating it for a fungus due to the rains. It continued to look bad, but we were told the fungus was dead and it would take time to recover. Well, after two treatments this year, it continued to look bad, so we asked them to send someone out. I was referred to Emerald Lawn services by another company who I had hired from Angie's list to repair my irrigation system. The gentleman from the other comapny arrived on time, fixed and adjusted my sprinkler system, was knowledgeable and courteous so I decided to take his suggestion and requested an estimate from Emerald Lawn services.
