We are new homeowners and had no clue how to fertilize our lawn. I called up Emerald Lawns and the lady on the phone couldn't have been any nicer. She answered all of my questions and had someone to fertilze our lawn with 48 hours. We also had them come back out to aerate and our grass started looking better. I signed up for the Aeration special which they performed with no issues. I just moved into my home and know absolutely nothing when it comes to lawns, grass, weeds and lawn maintenance. We moved in to our house in November and all I could see if brown grass and what I thought to be were weeds. The young lady who came out to measure the lawn was able to tell me what types of weeds they were and told me that in addition to their program(which really focuses on pre-emergent weeds), they would come out free of charge and spray ... read more
Cost vs results were not good. Only used them for a short time because to effectively treat our large number of weeds we needed more than spot spraying. They did offer to treat for free until we were satisfied but we decided we could do a better job for less money.

Hello [removed member name]. Unfortunately you had an inordinate amount of weeds that was going to take more than 2 applications to get rid of. Sometimes a lawn is in such bad shape with difficult to control weeds that I can't just spray once and they're gone. We don't charge extra for the additional treatments and will keep coming out at no charge until they are gone. Let me know if ever you would like to come back. They did not solve my issues. My yard looked worse after using them. I thought they were local and not one of the "big" companies that charge you monthly and just send somebody out who sprays whatever and charges you without being proactive. I was wrong.

Lawn aeration. Ad stated that cost was for lawns up to 1/4 acre. My lawn is right at 1/4 acre so thought that would be it for cost. They came and measured and was about 11,000 ft (just over 1/4). However, ad also states lawns up to 5,000 ft which isn't anywhere near 1/4 acre (10,890 ft). Charged me $60 more. I paid it because I didn't want to waste time looking for another company to come out.
I was never contacted to set up an appointment. So, there was never any work done and I never used them.
Took a couple calls to line up the treatment...they came & went, and I couldn't tell that they did anything. I wouldn't bother to use them again.
Lousy, first they make an appointment to come out to give you a sales pitch about all their products, this took about an hour ofmy time. Then they say they'll call in 2 to 3 weeks to set an appointment for the serviceI originally bought from the pre-paid service deal offered by Angie's List. When they called a couple of weeks later to set the appointment for the aeration, they informed me that I would need to have the entire lawn deeply watered before they arrive so their machine could aerate properly. I lose a significant amount of money doing $49 aerations as I have to split that 50/50 with Angies so my half is only $25. If I couldn't present my other services than there would be no point in offering the deal. That being said we do our best to just recommend what is truly needed and often we diagnose problems for the homeowner to take care of for themself.
