I researched numerous moving companies and spoke to a very friendly, seemingly knowledgeable rep for Empire, named ****** He took detailed info regarding move and provided a quote which seemed high. He came back with a reduced amount if I would commit in 24 hrs. I did. My first mistake. Fast forward we packed all our things movers scheduled a range of dates, showed today. Absolutely Horrible!I left my deposit, and everything seemed to be going as it should. Spoke with him on the phone and explained we were moving our mother, so we would not be on site during the pickup. Things started to go sideways with the delivery and Empire was not available to talk. Left numerous messages for Empire representative and never received a call back. No show no call fighting for deposit return unprofessional They rescheduled my pick up date then never came or called! Said there was mechanical issues but every time I called no one knew anything!
Scheduled a move from Arizona to Indiana on March 15th. Made a deposit of 1480.00 and the move was scheduled for end of june. Do to issues and not being ready I canceled the move may 15th and was told I would not receive any of my deposit back because it was past the window when asked what my window was communication stopped. Feels like a Scam i didn't expect to receive it all but atleast some of my deposit back for ample notice of the cancelation. I normally don't write reviews but this is wrong, people work to hard to get the stuff that we have and take care of them. If I could leave mo stars that would be the best option for this company. Like many others used Empire Moving Group for our move from **** to **** of course the rep on the phone was good real salesman at best. Gave us a quote which from experience I knew that when the movers got here the price would be different although they were given the exact items we would be shipping. RUN RUN RUN They lie to get your business. They are a Moving ************** not Moving Group. Third Party Transportation ************* ******************************** out of ******* picks up your items and alot of information was not advised example: Paperwork from Empire states delivery date 5/3, but Transportation ************* advised that date was the first date of delivery giving them till 5/11 to deliver my items. I regret to ever agreeing to use these guys and they never delivered abd I didnt get any refund, pure scammers. First they never mentioned they are a broker company meaning they have to get you local movers. When the moving guy came to pick up he came with only one guy and right away he started complaining that I had a lot of stuff. This was contratrary to what i had told the company . DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! The first contact and estimate was great! But as time went on, if you had to make any change in the moving date it cost $250 and as you know with closing dates etc. things do change! I did all the packing on my household, there was very little furniture as I has sold it. So all manageable size boxes, all located in the garage and living area. They overcharged me by thousands of $ more than agreed, and when I wrote a negative review elsewhere they threatened to charge more unless I took the review down. Absolute scoundrels.
