In a word BEWARE. I scheduled a move from ********** to ***** in February. I went over the specifics of my 2 bedroom apartment with a Senior Relocation Specialist but was uncertain of the number of boxes. This MOVING BROKER (not company) is fraudulent and nothing but a scam. I now know my rights though. By law they have to tell you if they are a mover or a broker. They never told me that and they cannot give you a low ball estimate which they did. They are now threatening by telling me they are holding ALL OF MY BELONGINGS. Which they legally cannot do. DO NOT USE. This company has nothing to do with your move other than outsourcing it to awful local companies that don't handle your belongings carefully at all. Any promises they make regarding price, payment methods, scheduling, and the safety of your belongs are lies. Whatever you talked about with the rep from Empire will never be communicated to the people who actually show up at your home, so you have to renegotiate everything you thought was already in the contract. I will never use them again.
UNPROFESSIONAL!!! My experience with Empire Moving has been awful. I spent over an hour on the phone going over all my items and the space needed. I informed sales that I had a full 10X20 storage unit. I scheduled the pickup. Sales said it would be a window of time but the movers had to be available on the first day but if I wasnt ready I could reschedule within the window of time. RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN FROM THIS MOVER. I would give zero stars if I could.I've moved this same furniture 2x times now first from ********** to *******, then from ******* to *****, and now ***** to **********. I gave a detailed list of all items that were in a storage unit. I had already moved this furniture 2 times (corporate furniture) so had some idea of what it would take. Absolutely HORRIBLE! The only portion of this entire experience was when we selected this company. *********************** said just about everything to secure the move. Let me preface with the fact that this my 13th move on 21 years and this is the WORST AND MOST DISHONEST company Ive worked with. Don't use them. Messed up almost every step of the process. A broker not the 3 sub companies they hired underneath for my move. Refused to assist me when I complained and laughed at my demands to make it right. Had to *** them in small claims court to even get a partial refund with my whole deposit back to settle. Shouldn't have had to take months of effort on my end to make it even partially right.
Awful experience and very misleading. Was provided a quote of $4.3K to move then was told $7.9K once the movers arrived. I was told a QA representative would arrive prior to the movers to see if any adjustments in the price was required....nobody arrived. Misleading, unprofessional, time delayed nothing that you would expect from an honest business. @nthony sold us a **** of goods.They upcharged us, they changed delivery date they sub contracter. Items lost. Etc
