I am amazed that they take the time to reply to each complaint and attempt to put the blame on the customer. This company is operating on the fringes of legality. Their sales people are extremely skilled in using high pressure sales techniques as well as minimal information in an effort to get the customer to sign. Regardless of what they say in their responses, they do not advise you that they are a broker. They do not tell you that another company will be handling your move. ZERO STARS. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY TO MOVE YOUR STUFF. Stuff showed up 2 weeks late and EVERY SINGLE PIECE OF FURNITURE WAS DAMAGED. Anyone who leaves anything above 1 star is a fake account. My stuff was picked up, thrown into a truck, and then the truck sat in **** for 2 weeks while the company "worked to find a driver." When I called to get updates on the move, the customer service agents were snarky and rude. I saw the way things were packed on the truck at delivery and it was a disaster. NEVER use Empire Moving Group, Pro-Tristate Movers or Galley Transportation EVER!! 1. I was quoted $3,500 for the job, then after loading my stuff to the truck they said it was going to be $7,000.2. When I originally spoke to my rep, he was great! The problem was, his people skills lacked. He spoke quickly, interrupted me and failed to tell me that Empire was basically a broker (I found this out the day BEFORE my movers came). I had no idea that they were to hire out moving companies. I was basically trying to get a quote for my cross country move. He made it sound like I was getting a phenomenal deal and it was, from the quote I received from someone else. Do your research. Get other quotes. I ended up paying $2,000 more than what I was initially quoted by this company. That is a lot of money for a single mother. I feel that I was taken advantage of. When all was said and done, my things were delivered to my storage unit as planned, BUT they would not accept my final payment in the form a certified money order from my bank. Imagine paying a hefty fee to a company to select another company to come to your home to burglarize and vandalize your belongings. Oh, and then to tell you that they bear no responsibility for the selection of the burglar. That is, essentially what happened to us with the Empire Moving Group. They brokered our move to Triple Crown Moving and Storage of ******, *****, who then proceeded to lose and damage thousands of dollars of our items with impunity. Any positive reviews is probably contrived and an inside job. They dont reveal that they are a broker who use predatory tactics to quote you a low cost then collect the first payment from u, knowing fully well that the true cost of your move will be as high as even 3 times more, with the real company they sell your move to. They are dishonest leeches that should be avoided and investigated.
Company is a Sham when it comes to moving!Did not advise they would be a day late for pickup, I had to call and was told someone will call you with an update..that never happened. Once they showed up it was a totally different company and now the moving rate went up an additional 4k and an additional $300 for fuel than was quoted. They came a day late and tried to charge me more then the quote of the contract and was very rude behavior on the phone and told there driver to leave They didn't do anything and ran over things in my yard and refuse to give me my money back after paying and they did not move a thing, they are trying to cheat people by saying things are not in their contract very very unprofessional they will be taken to court over this.
