We took our dog there last week for a check up and vaccinations. He needed everything because we had not kept up with his boosters. Everything is pretty clean and no overpowering animal smells. Gunner was seen by Dr. Louie and he was very thorough and down to earth. I've been to places where vets were overly zealous. For equally zealous pet owners, I'm sure that's great, but it is not for us. We brought our 5 year Shih Tzu here for a second opinion on what Banfield had told us. They confirmed that our pup needed surgery ASAP to remove stones from her bladder (we had x rays done at Banfield). We scheduled the surgery here and saved about $400 compared to Banfield, where we normally get treatment. The surgery went fine, as planned, and our pup was in and out in the same day. Evergreen Vet. Clinic provides excellent veterinary care. We take both of our dogs there and I have to say that I am very impressed with the quality of care that is given. Every time we have been, the staff has been professional and very helpful. The three doctors we have seen over our visits definitely seem to be there because they truly care about animals and making sure that they are healthy. I'm usually not a fan of any clinic type medical facilities, but I have yet to have a bad experience here. I have a rescued Pitbull who's social skills with other dogs can be unpredictable. I call before we show up to any appointment so they can either have a room ready for us or let us know that the waiting area is empty for the moment, to make things go smoothly and avoid any chance of confrontation. Wonderful place to take your pets. Easy to get an appt.... they saw us for an emergency on the weekend when our (former) vet told us we would have to call around to find someone else (while I was holding my bleeding dog in my arms). And something everyone should know: Dr. Matre treated my NARF rescue dog pro bono after I had adopted her and found she had a bladder or possible kidney infection.
I brought my kitty here today for a checkup because she's been breathing weirdly, and my doc recommended an xray, which showed that she had some kinda lung infection :( They prescribed some antibiotics, and I'm feeling better about the whole thing, definitely. I was way worried before, but I feel better now. The radiologist is going to look into it at the end of the month. I rescued my chow chow from an abusive home and he has MAJOR trust issues with people, he may look adorable, and he is, but he is extremely rough around the edges. Love, love, love Evergreen Veterinary Clinic. All of the Doctors are friendly, knowledgeable & caring. I never feel rushed and always have all of my questions answered. My baby loves all the doctors, especially, Dr. Arvizu. I can not express how much I have appreciated the care that we have received!
Received a letter in the mail today from the School of Veterinary Medicine at UC Davis. Evergreen Veterinary Clinic made a donation to the Companion Animal Memorial Fund in memory of Jasmine. The donation will help find answers for the diseases that cause pain and suffering among companion animals... thank you EVC for taking good care of my dachshund Jasmine while I was working.
