TOTAL RIPOFF !! STAY AWAY FROM THESE THIEVES !! They have units burglarized all of the time. Their prices are way too HIGH compared to local competitors ! The WITCH that is the manager flies to work on her broom and is a TOTAL BITCH !! Absolutely NO COMPASSION for her long time tenants. They lock you out of your rental unit in the blink of an eye. I've been trying to rent a unit from this facility for a week. I have made 3 visits in that time and was only able to get into the office and speak to a manager on one occasion. Today I was greeted by a sign that stated "the manager will be back at 2:00pm" (mind you the manager called me yesterday and told me to come down anytime before 5:30pm today) so I figured I'd wait around and in the process came across these giant 1 1/2" cockroaches!! I think I might find another establishment to store my valuables.

I probably give Extra Space in El Segundo 2.5 stars. I would like to give it a higher ranking, because the resident manager is very sweet and helpful. She is a true professional and runs a tight ship here. But there are two major problems with this place (and they are not attributable to her at all): (1) The advertised price on the website and elsewhere does NOT include mandatory insurance that Extra Space Storage FORCES you to purchase from them. BEWARE! The facility in El Segundo cost me dearly. In less than one year, they have been burglarized by thieves at least twice that I know of. I should have avoided this facility after reading in the news that this facility was burglarized a few months prior, but I thought they had learned from that experience and had improved their security with more cameras. What a poorly managed facility. The rear roll-up door is inoperable more than not, there are 4 carts for the entire facility - and they're LOCKED, so you can't use them after 6pm?!! Rediculous. However, they do consistently and timely increase the montly fees annually. I hate this place. I started off at $65 5 years ago, and am now at $100. What a joke.

A similar review was posted on July 28th but was mysteriously removed While disputing fees placed on the unit & being locked out of my unit, a financial institution notified me of several attempts of fraud to my account. This clearly indicates that Extra Space Storage personal accessed private information while I was blocked from my unit. This facility maintains units that are less than the size they are telling you. Maintenance is an issue. Garage doors and elevators are constantly out of order and the district manager takes weeks to approve repairs. Apparently local storage places are the way to go...at least they don't have to wait for management approval on repairs. Public Storage was no better in my experience. The roof leaked soaking all my boxes, and they offered to comp a half of a month's rent. For the price you can do much better. Go locally owned.
