In a couple of months of having my unit they "accidentally" charged me 2500 twice. And raised my rent after two months by 100 without letting me know.
December 30, 2024 I received this injury due to this protruding foot-long piece of metal Sticking from the wall around a blind corner. I asked for a Band-Aid in the front office, and was scoffed at. "We don't give customers bandaids. Do you think we're a Pharmacy?" I had to go to the emergency room, Had to get a tetanus shot, Had to go on antibiotics, missed two weeks of work, and now six weeks later have a lifelong scar. Extra Space storage? Updating to 1 star. I can't count all the reasons this place is complete trash. 1) as a policy, they don't waive late fees. I had a late fee because my previous card had fraudulent activity on it and needed to be cancelled. Replacing it caused me to be late in updating my payment info. Requested a waiver of the late fee and they told me to fuck myself. 2) as soon as they lock you into a contract, they raise the rent of your unit automatically by $70 on month 3 and then increase it $60 PER MONTH, every 3 months thereaf... read more

Bait and switch. After 3 months they raise my rate by 40% without notice. Can't wait to get my stuff outta there.

I have been renting a space from ExtraSpace for over 20 years. The one located on Eddy St used to be a small family business, and I remember renting a space for $65,- a month. In comes ExtraSpace, and they have increased my rate from the day they took over the business. From $65,- to today's rate of $157,- a month. For the the same space. They rented me a storage unit, told me I could move in, and gave me access code. When I showed up with full moving truck and movers, the access code didn't work. In addition, the storage unit I paid for had someone elses lock on it. I ended up having to pay movers extra hours and pay for truck rental another day. Worst excuse for a storage facility. They still have my money too!

Every time I rent here my rate is doubled every 4 months. Started in an 8x10 for $100/month, 3 months later it's $210 with another increase coming in 6 months. It's not very secure & there are people residing in their units.

They offer a low monthly rate at first but within the last 11 months have raised the monthly cost by 75%. Their reason is local property value which is bull $h!T. I'm moving my stuff out next month!

Our contract states that they must provide 30 days notice of rate increases via email. After less than 12 months here my rate has increased twice, all the way from $250 to $450 with no notice at all. I'll be taking legal action now. Fuck this shady company.
