Because I had a hot water heater go out and they would not help replace it when it went out cause it was older but it worked fine when I moved in
Customer Service was extremely poor.
Failure to locate/use local repair people.
When our air-conditioning system failed, we called them and they gave us a number to call, it was for an A/C company. They said it would take them about 6 days to come over and take a look at it, and when I asked what I was supposed to do without A/C in the meantime, they said 'that's your problem'! It was such a negative experience!
It was a true hassle to deal with their customer support, so my experience with them has been poor. I live in a place where the weather is 100 degrees, and when our A/C went out on a Sunday, I placed the claim online and didn't get an answer. When I called back, it was impossible to talk to somebody because I couldn't get past their voice response. It's disappointing because it doesn't cover everything it says it covers. I needed to use the warranty to get my garage fixed and I paid the deductible for that, but I was not happy because the warranty wouldn't cover that repair.
I've put in two claims with them so far, nothing but kindness from both the customer service and selected contractors. I see why this is the only home warranty company I could find that has more positives than negatives in the BBB. Loving them so far!
We tried to use our warranty for our air-conditioner to get a free summer check on it. Landmark responded quickly, contacted another company to come, and they never contacted us. Landmark tried to follow up but even several months later, we never ever got our air-conditioner checked. Landmark kept on checking up but they were unable to get an individual out here until they just gave up. The only problem I had with them was that when I call I have to go through this barrage of prompts. I get transferred from line to line and have to go through the bullshit messages. I'd rather just get to a person right away instead of poking numbers to get to a department. Other than that, I've been very happy with the service that they give me.
