when I bought my house 10 years ago, first call was the company who had been servicing the furnace. now after 10 years, I found out that this company was not properly servicing the furnace, I was on a regular schedule of furnace maintenance. I was charged the money and no cleaning of my furnace was done... ever! i was ripped off. i now am converting to gas with another company, RUN don't walk away from this company!

I used Tri County Temp Control in Oct. 2013. I had to wait for a few days to be on the schedule. They installed a new part to the tune of $600+, with guarantee. I Feb 2014 my furnace again broke down on a Friday night. I called Tri County early Sat morning. They said they were busy but would come out between 12pm and 5pm that day, but I would have to pay overtime of $148 not including parts, etc. OK I said. I waited all day, nothing. I call at 5pm, they said they were not coming out and that I would get a call on Monday to ... read more

Sorry First Call but this is a dangerous situation and people need to know. Please do not use this company for tune ups or fixes. Eithor they are not trained to look at the furnace or worse they don't care to. I am going to give the benefit of the doubt and say they are just not trained. (Maybe it's like taking your car to get tuned up or fixed to the guy who pumps your gas- nothing wrong with pumping gas as a job but you're not trained to open the hood and see if there is something that needs fixing or even urgent fixing... read more

There really should be away to give a company like this no stars. It's very misleading to let folks think they somehow managed to get a star. Stay away there are too many decent oil companies out there to get messed up by this one.

We needed to have a heat surface ignitor (HSI) replaced and they said it would be about $275 over the phone. It was a $100 for them to come out and see. I ended up buying the part locally for $49 and installed it myself in under 5 minutes. I could have ordered the part online for even less ($23) but it's cold and we needed to get our furnace back up and running.

I don't think very highly of them even though they were listed on the NW Natural website. I called for a furnace service on my 1 year old gas furnace. The guy went up in the attic and wrote up an additional $380 for repairs. After he left we discovered that the furnace was never cleaned. It was dirty! So I called Tri County back but they would not connect me to service.....they gave me an email address. I sent an email and never got a response, so I called them again. They said that they would come back and vacuum the... read more

So, the good about this place: Now, the bad: They just don't care, and it runs right up to the top, or at least the almost-top. The day that they came out to do the actual install was fine, but it was pretty clear that we didn't get a top-notch installation guy. We immediately noticed the massive amounts of cold air blowing out of the furnace (no, we would prefer to not cool the garage) and the drain from the pump blasting its water directly on the outdoor compressor unit. Not having ever had a house with an air conditio... read more

Although Eastside was quick to respond, I would not recommend them. The part on my furnace that needed replacing was a very inexpensive plastic fan. I was told the fan was not available separately and that the entire Blower Motor needed to be replaced. It's the middle of February and I need heat so what can you do? They replaced the Blower Motor - the part was $633.25 - three times the actual cost (I Googled it). I also found that the fan that needed replacing is available for less than $23. So they lied to me and tripled th... read more

I've been a customer of First Call since I purchased my old house 8 years ago. I didn't choose them, it was the service that was at the house, so I stuck with it. I have the auto fill plan, which basically means they show up, whenever, to fill the tank. Along with this "service" is a yearly furnace tune up. Now, my furnace is a 1950's model that has been gently rebuilt through the years, and still works like a dream, even has a decent efficiency, so this type of service is a definite must. Each year since I've owned this... read more
