Fox rental charges fees they never disclose. You are transported from airport to a remote location m, kept in line for 2 hours, then told your rental will cost you 4x the amount you already paid on Priceline. I'm warning everyone I can and Priceline not to use them.

I'm reviewing a 1 week rental I had with Fox at the PHX airport location at the end of December 2020. I reserved a compact SUV several weeks prior but when I arrived we were downgraded to a sedan without any notice and the price remained the same. We did not discover it until we reached the lot and had to return to the desk to learn there were no compact SUVs available and were downgraded. This is to advise you I am seeking assistant with compensation for my troubles incurred with our rental. Additionally, I will be writing as many negative reviews as possible until FOX gets my message. I was in need of roadside assistance three days consecutive days and basically have been ignored. If I could give zero stars I would. Please DO NOT rent cars from them; they are shady and deceptive with their service. I rented the car, thinking that their low rates were great. There are tons of fees that get added on, but still a pretty great price for a month long rental. Helen, the customer service rep at the counter talked me into the insurance, and tried to talk me into other add ons. I first rented from the Oakland location which was fine until I wanted to extend my rental. They took me through the entire process, and then finally said it would be "a little more expensive". My initial daily rate was $11 and the new rate was $34. That is ridiculous, you should be transparent about pricing and not try to con people into spending more. Incredibly unprofessional. We live in Colorado, and had planned to rent an SUV to go see family in Georgia. We found a good deal through priceline and fully paid for our reservation back in September to be prepared, knowing SUV rentals are hard to find during snow season in Colorado. Fast forward to the day we are packed and supposed to leave, we go to pick up the rental. If I could give no stars I would. We rented a car from Fox on the 12/1 and first off the car was not clean had dog hairs all over the seats.. the tire pressure in 2 of the tires were very low. Anyways I had car rented to the 9th. We ended up having to stay so extended our car rental. Again another situation came up and we needed to extend again. I called, waited for about 1 hour on the phone before speaking to an agent. He asked for my information and because I responded "too slow" his words, He said I cannot extend the car.... read more

I have tried to call and speak with someone at Fox Rent a Car multiple times at the Tampa Airport regarding our rental and the the charges, only to be put on ignore/hold and also had my calls disconnected, I managed to speak with one person who had a thick accent when I started explaining the reason for my call I was put on hold and then the call disconnected. A request for refund of that amount was submitted so you should see that refund back to your account in 2 to 4 business days. For the tolls, that is not billed by Fox Rent a Car. They are sending customers out in car which appear to have not been COVID 19 Sanitized and which apparently have not been safety inspected because they have low tires and others have reported bad brakes and other issues.
