I have been renting cars for over 20 years. I have rented from Alamo, Hertz, Enterprise, Avis and the like. FOX A CAR IS THE WORST! Rental car booked as prepaid in order to save cost ~$30. Then attempted to change the date for one day after the original date. General support could not do anything in terms of modifying the original contract. The car also will be lost if not picked up in 12 hours period. Attempted to call billing and was on hold for two hours twice. After two hours automated voice stated that the business is closed now. After reading reviews, I am thinking what happened to me is standard practice. 1. Picked up vehicle in Las Vegas and the vehicle reeked of pot. 3 teenage girls with my friend and I for a company event and was embarrassed each time at valet. 2. Returned the vehicle FULL after topping it off with $28 worth of gas that was used to drive 40 miles in the car. Clean, no issues, just as we received it. 3. I went to the FOX Rent a Car counter near LAX to transact my reservation. I dealt with a guy named ANAND whom I informed that I did not need Loss Damage Waiver Insurance coverage as my own vehicle policy covers rental and in addition I purchased a third party policy at half of FOX's price. I emphatically declined insurance a second time. He distracted me by asking me how he could unionize FOX Rent A Car. On 11MAR20 my family and I rented a car from the Orlando Fox Rent a car location. Our agent Bernard of course told us about the added insurance we could get which would cover us in an accident whether it was our fault or not, this of course being the Loss Damage Waiver or LDW. I along with my wife asked him again that this covers us if we get in an accident whether it was our fault or not and he responded yes. I am not happy at all with this company! I booked a reservation online and they took my payment and a 500 hold. I went to the location in fort myers fl and the manager canceled my reservation and said i will be refunded. My money was never refunded, but my reservation is canceled !! I have tried several times to contact Fox rent a cR and each time I have been on hold for over 1.5 hours and that was 3 times. It is ridiculous!
