Big hassle with trying to finance the purchase of the estate house of my father. In the end Mutual of Omaha would not finance the purchase so I could buy out my four other siblings. It was supposedly the underwriter that just didn't get what we were trying to do. I give Frank credit for trying to make it work but I would go weeks without not hearing anything. 1. The team does not communicate the status of the loan on a regular basis. They seem to assume that since they understand how long the process will take then so does the consumer even though little communication has been offered. The online checklist used early in the process is great but is not a useful for the entire process. The lack of communication is demonstrated in point 3. 2. Went through Costco to find a lender, part of their executive membership services, told on average members save a good deal. instead I ended up paying more than in fees & with higher costs than the house I had just purchased 8 months earlier. There were so many unnecessary complications, Do Overs regarding paperwork, I never received spam phone calls to my registered do not call cell phone number but the minute I give out my number to Mutual of Omaha now I'm receiving two to three a day. Professionalism from you loan preparation staff was lacking. You dont laugh at your customers and hang up on them. The outsourced appraisal company Appraisal Linx accepted a revision with multiple errors on the appraisal costing Mutual of Om Mortgage and your customer thousands of dollars. This is NOT acceptable.
