I truly had a wonderful experience with this lender. I closed in 15 days flat when others were taking upto 2 months. Did not pay a dime put of my pocket (in fact I got some positive cash flow) in closing costs either.

I had finally found the property and was looking for the best lender. I came across this company due to low interest advertised and I was contacted by Ryan for further details. I, initially, spoke to Ryan in great details about my slightly complex situation with my employers and income structure. My rate was locked and I was happy with the lower rate. As I was looking into other lenders, Ryan kept contacting me day and night to get documents signed. Finally, I signed everything to begin the process. I had an appraisal comple... read more

I never thought about going with unknown broker for my mortgage. I normally go with brokers through I know but I decided to give them a try since garden state lender who Jake/Daniel is associated with is based in NJ and had excellent online reviews. I was skeptical at first but when I spoke with Daniel who fielded all the initial questions and provided rates and fees up front I felt comfortable moving forward with them. Once we started to move along the process Daniel and Jake stayed in touch and was able to answer all the q... read more

we received a letter describing a new refinance program with no appraisal, closing, and credit score didnt matter etc. When i contacted him he gave me a quote and said they needed to pull credit for the mortgage history only. No problem. then our rate jumped up .75% and we needed $5600 to close because the quote he gave me was based on 700+ score. AFTER he told me that score didnt matter. He was not responsive, and even as i was on hold for him he sends an email explaining bc he didnt have the courage to call me. Very untrus... read more

Absolutely horrible experience. I initially went with GSHL after speaking with Joseph G, however he knew I was still shopping around for rates. After I notified him that I would be terminating my application for a loan, he called my agent (who luckily knew I went with a different lender) and the sellers agent to notify them of my canceled loan application. This casts a cloud over the entire deal and made both agents very uneasy. GSHL had ABSOLUTELY NO business contacting the sellers agent without all the details or my consen... read more

Worst experience. My friend warned me to stay away from a broker and to deal with a direct lender. Once my loan was sent to the real bank the broker was working with everything changed and there were delays. Strongly recommend not using these guys or any other middleman like brokers.

Business response:

Wow I'm so sorry to hear of your difficulty, but after looking through all my buyers that closed in July (and all year) I can't seem to find you in our system or anyone that was delayed due to something on our side. I also haven't worked with any buyers in your area for several months so I'm hoping you maybe confused me for someone else. We are a direct lender so I'm not sure what 'real bank' you're referring to. With so many moving parts, third parties and government regulations I know that delays can and do happen, but I w... read more

My experience with getting a mortgage from Scott and Garden State was mostly a positive experience except some of the pickiness that the conditions of submitted documents, namely the pay stub. My pay stub has a lot of information that has nothing to do with my salary or net worth. In the interest of preventing identity theft since everything ends up leaking at some point, I blacked out those non-applicable sections. That really ticked me off that they needed everything, they have no business knowing my non-salary stuff. I en... read more

The rep from Garden State was professional and prompt. Was helpful in answering a few questions. In the end I did not choose Garden State because I got a slight better offer from another lender that I trusted as much as Garden State.
