I moved and am not able to see my regular stylist any more. After procrastinating for far too long I decided to give Gene Juarez a try. Even though they are a chain they seemed on the upscale side. If I could rate this establishment with 0 stars, that would be my rating. I just could not believe my booking experience! IT LITERALLY took me an hour to book two massages and two pedicure sessions with them.. REDICULOUSSS!!!! My girlfriend and I decided to pamper ourselves with a spa day for Mother's Day. I came here on Wednesday for a mani/pedi. Not even three days later and the polish is chipped on three finger nails and one toe nail. They have the nerve to charge 100 dollars and do a crappy job. I will never go back. Very disappointing.

I enjoyed my experience but really disappointed in my end result. I showed at least 3 pictures that clearly demonstrated what I was wanting as far as color and style. I wanted a balayage. Simple. I needed an all over color (brown) and caramel balayage. Well at first it seemed to look right but as soon as I saw the picture of the back of my hair I realized that it wasn't at all what I wanted. I visited the salon to get eyelash extensions it was an expensive waste of money and time 2 hours to put eyelashes on then about an hour the next day to have them fixed I followed all the instructions all my eyelashes fall out within a week. If I wasn't on a vacation and had the patience to go visit the salon everyday then I would think it would be worth the $200 It was a pricey and lesson learned! This is an update but only directly regarding the lobby and front desk. GJ, you need to hire people who care. Every time I stop by the salon, with money burning a hole in my pocket, and wanting to purchase product, I am always snubbed by the snobby front desk staff. I am an extremely perceptive person, and I have never once been greeted or approached by anyone who works there, and I am also given a vibe that because I am not a skinny gorgeous super model, I am not worthy of customer service. Theresa for massage is fabulous! Jim for hair cuts is fabulous! DJ for nails is fabulous! The salon overall is great. But.... Waiting on the phone, waiting in line to check in, waiting in line to pay. It's ridiculous. The waits can be so long. It is especially infuriating when there is a line and even though there are people behind the desk, they are not helping anyone. Also, leave the two bathrooms for your customers! I often wait and out comes an employee. Surely there must be facilities for the employees!

Some of my worst hair experiences have come from here. I went in for a conditioning treatment and they literally melted my hair. Paid a lot of money for a haircut and could've gotten the same thing at a Supercuts. Got a manicure and they made me leave before it was dry so it smudged immediately. I've also had the front desk staff be incredibly rude. Yes I finally learned my lesson and don't go here anymore.
