Bad bad customer service!! Paid $70 for hair color on scalp only, $77 for a half inch cut on one length hair. But wait..... there's more! Made appointment with $20 off coupon and the receptionist never said it had to be with the same stylist so when we got there, that's when they said I couldn't use it. SCAM!!!! Spoke with management who was absolutely useless!!

As you know, finding a good stylist/colorist is tough, but when you do find the right one, it's a magical experience. I visited Gene Juarez in Tacoma. My stylist was Faviana. I wish I had something nice to say about this experience. She was late for my appointment, and offered no apologies for the delay. First, i love my colorist Shayla, horridly expensive but well worth it. However, trying to get an appt is akin to trying to get hold of Pres. Trump.. maybe i should tweet them? They say, after you have been on hold a few minutes, " book online" well, i hung up after they said wait time of 11 minutes and tried online, that only works for some spa items, be warned and don't fall for that. Too many times to count now, the stylist I had gotten used to once again, left the store. Since corporate sell out, the Tacoma Gene Juarez has all but crumbled. The only thing that remains of the way it used to be, is his name. And I think he would be furious by comparison! I made an appointment online with Jae but they booked someone else for the time I booked my appointment for and apparently my appointment didn't exist in their system. I'm furious. I used to go to the location at alderwood mall and downtown Seattle and since I just moved down here decided to give them a shot. Never going to this place ever again. Horrible customer service.
I have had a great experience with the spa services here, so was hopeful with the salon. I simply needed a trim, although that trim was about a three minute haircut, and still left me with ends that needed to be cut. No three minute haircut is worth $60+ dollars. I'm sure it depends on who you get. Not willing to take the risk again.

Pretty disappointed in the customer service at GJ in Tacoma. Tried to return some product that my husband purchased for me for my birthday. They now have a new policy that no returns will occur more than 30 days. So over $150 in product that I cannot exchange for the products I actually use. I think this company has really become much more "corporate" and less customer satisfaction oriented over the last few years.
WORST HAIRCUT EVER. I am furious. First thing I tell the "designer" who had never met me before that moment: "I'm growing my hair out. It was very short before but I've been growing it out for a few months now. I just need it trimmed up a little in the back at the bottom, and the bangs, and even-up the sides." I give her some more general instructions about the style I'm aiming for and my hair characteristics. "Sure thing." Unbeknownst to me, she shortens all the hair on the back of my head. I went in for an up do for a wedding. The ease of booking the appointment and the staff were incredibly nice however when it came to actually styling my hair, as well as my sisters who had another stylist - it was subpar. We wanted something more trendy and to incorporate braiding techniques however both missed the mark by a mile. I'm sure they do a great job at cuts and color but would recommend a trail run or finding another salon for updos. For almost $100 each our hair looked like we did it ourselves.
