Got my hair done by a different stylist this time. While my hair did turn out fine, the girl who did my hair seemed very disinterested and seemed like she didn't want to be there. She rushed on my wash and was a bit rough while combing and cutting my hair. She didn't even ask me how I was or try to engage in small talk. I don't mind a quiet stylist, but this made me feel uncomfortable. I hope that this was just an off day for her and that she's not normally like this, but I don't think I'll be returning here. Talked to five different employees over the course of a month prior to the appointment. All told me that my hair dye job would cost $230-$260. Showed up yesterday and had stylist tell me that the total would be $1000. Several different employees later and I still received no explanation other than half hearted apologies. I left and made a significantly less expensive appointment somewhere else. Safe to say that I will never return to Gene Juarez.
I went to Gene Juarez for a few years and it was always fine because I got simple haircuts. Recently I went in and requested short but I said specifically that I do not want a bob. And so, I told my hairdresser that and we went on with my cut and it was fine. Later on I had emphasized how much I hated bobs and then she replied with "It's not how you cut it, it's how you style it." Then I come to find out she had been cutting my hair into a bob the whole damn time!

Josh, the "assistant manager" was so unprofessional and rude. One star is too much for him. I spent a lot of money here to have someone be rude to me. I will not spend one more dollar there because of him.

not a good experience whatsoever.. i'm not going to say who cut my hair but it just seemed like she was in a rush to get me out of her chair. i'm not happy at all and i will say that gene juarez is NOT what is used to be.

Biggest mistake ever. Hair is so damaged and a bleached mess, there's orange, yellow and black in my hair, there's NO consistency. I wanted cool highlights to contrast with my dark hair, but ended up getting talked into a balayage. It looked good right after it was done, but when I got home to look under my own light and natural light, underneath my hair is orange and yellow, it's breaking off and looks awful. This was my first massage at this location, I usually go to Puyallup or Seattle, and I have to say the masseuse was great and the atmosphere was not what I was used to. At other locations you get lockers and this one I got a locked garment bag, which as anyone would worry about, got mixed up. Also the other locations have showers which helps with getting on with the day after. The room that I got a massage in was what seemed to be the old cleaning room/ showering area. This company likes to hire inexperienced people who don't know what the heck they are doing. They can't cut hair, dye hair or even paint nails!! They don't know the difference between 2 inches and 5 inches. Or the difference between blonde and orange. They ask for a picture of what you want just to do the opposite. You pay more for a "senior" stylist who ends up being just as horrible as the new ones. On top of the bad work they also don't know anything about customer service. Just awful
Never been so disappointed in my life. You would think with the money these people charge they would do better. I came in and talked to the manager about getting my daughters hair done. He had Neanna do a "consult" on her hair. We showed her a pic of what she wanted and Neanna said she could do it. I scheduled and the next day came in.
