I like this place a lot. I have always been able to come in to this location without an appointment and book a hair cut the same day, within 30 mins of arriving. This method of not having a set hairstylist may phase some women, but I honestly think the caliber of the stylists at Gene Juarez are all pretty top notch (although there are some that are better than others, I've never had a haircut I've regretted here). Gene Juarez U Village is the best. Sonja and Winne have both done my color and I have never had a complaint. They know what their doing - you don't have to worry about that ever. I have had Stella and Biancha cut my hair - I prefer Stella and only because I found Biancha annoying (my problem not hers). They both have great repuations online and in the salon. This one is for Robert mostly. But the entire experience was fantastic. I was a color virgin. I went into Gene Juarez because I wanted the best I could afford the first time I dyed my hair. I was worried because I was afraid I'd pay all that money for a color I hated. I showed Robert a picture and he automatically knew what to do. My previous stylist left the business and I felt nervous as I waited to meet my new stylist. However the moment I met Kristina I felt comfortable. I explained the situation, and showed her photos of prior cuts. She quickly grasped my expectations, and where the problems were with my current cut. She shaped my hair into a lovely swing bob, which is exactly what I wanted. Her attention to detail is amazing.

Alan does the best color out there! I couldn't wait to move back to Seattle so he can do my hair regularly. Pretty much my entire family gets our color done by him and we all love him!

Winnie does the best balayage. I am very both very particular about my hair and very low maintenance and Winnie strikes the perfect balance. I get my hair cut every 6 months (not weeks!) and I like only having to get my hair dyed every 6 months as well. With balayage, the look changes as my hair grows out but it always looks good and never like I have roots. Highly recommend Gene Juarez and especially Winnie for balayage.

I went here because it's convenient and they offered a sale - I had never been there before and was leery of getting my hair cut in the U Village. But I thought Amanda did a pretty good job of cutting my hair. Bonus points because I showed up on the wrong day and they fit me in anyway. I only had to wait like 15 extra minutes, actually, which was awesome! The receptionist was very polite about me showing up on the wrong day, as well, which was nice.

Carlee gave me one of the best facials of my life! She was attentive, professional and knowledgeable I think what really shines through and out of her magical hands is her passion for what she does. 10 out of 10 when it comes to facials. She also works miracles on eyebrows... Thanks again Carlee, I'm still glowing!

Salon service is great but the customer support line is awful. It's outsourced and if you ask a question that takes them offscript, they are very rude. It's also hard to understand the folks answering the calls.
