Long time client. Love my stylist. BUT they have the WORST app ever! Hard to book, ridiculously time consuming having to scroll through the calendar day by day to find an open appt. w/ my stylist, impossible to cancel, seriously the WORST APP EVER. You'd think in 2023 they could figure out how to create a user friendly app. And I say this as a senior citizen!

I went in explaining to my sylist that i have thinning hair...and i dont style my hairbecause it is thinning so i cant do much with it otherthan pull it up in a pony or hair clip...my hair had no shape...allhe did was cut the ends leaving the same dull look...bulky on the sides...no facial framing nothing...i told him i was not afraid to lose length and to do what he thought wouldlook good...inother words...wow me...chop away...do something besides leave me with the same look only shorter...wish i could ad a picof the cut he... read more

Yesterday, my husband gifted me a salon hair day. I waited 30 minutes after my appointment time to be see. I was not happy when I left. The color was awful. It looked nothing like the picture. I was recommended to email a manager to help resolve the problem. I came in the next day for the correction and upon checkout get asked to pay more than the original booking because they added the "blowout" for free. The colorist who fixed my hair was very kind. I have been going to Gene Juarez back when Gene Juarez owned this Salon & Spa. Since he sold the business over the years things have changed. When I recently booked a partial foil after have my hair cut, they recommended their senior stylist first. I asked if they had someone that is not senior. They said yes, and they said that she is $158. I said "that sounds great!" When I recently went to my appointment with her and then went to pay, they said it would be $200. I initially went to the University location where I worked with Sydney. She was very sweet however, the final outcome was not only significantly different than I requested (completely wrong color etc) but it was poorly executed overall. I left the salon with vibrant dark red roots which were not at all blended with the rest of my hair. I am a long-time customer of both Gene Juarez salon and the academy. I was one of the individuals who for multiple reasons went 2 1/2 years without a haircut before seeing someone in October 2021 at uvillage salon. The haircut honestly was the best haircut I have had in ten years (the stylist was a little stand-offish). But, I realized yesterday I needed a trim to maintain the cut and called to get a cut with the same stylist. Unprofessional and unreliable service. I made my first appointment at the university village location with Dony. About 10mins past my appointment time, I was informed that she was running behind and would be about 10-15 minutes late. I said that was fine and would wait. About 45 minutes later I approached the front desk and asked about my appointment. I was asked to wait about 20 minutes longer because "she lost track of time". I went in for a blowout & style which ended up costing $80 (with tip). The blowout and curls looked great when I walked out but completely fell apart after 12 hrs. As you can see from the photos, my hair now looks worse than if I blow dried it at home. Pretty disappointed since their blowout was so pricey whereas a blowout from my usual salon lasts at least 3-4 days.

Cancelled my appointment 5 days in advance and the only alternative I was given was an appointment 3 days later with the same service but costs more. I will not be booking with them again. Update: I was emailed to confirm my appointment two days after they cancelled it, I called to confirm that they had already canceled it and they said I do still have the appointment. ???
